Summer Transition Program

James P. Timilty Middle School

205 Roxbury Street
Roxbury, MA 02119

June 2005

Dear Parent / Guardian:

Despite our efforts to address your child’s performance problems this year, we think that s/he will fail the course and/or not meet the benchmark in Reading and/ or Math.

As a result, s/he will be required to attend the BPS Summer Transition Program if his/her work does not improve.

The Summer Transition Program is an intensive, four-week summer program. Classes will be smaller to provide each child with the attention s/he will need. Each teacher will work with about twelve students. Each student will be required to attend every session and put forth effort in order to pass to the next grade.

The school will be scheduling parent information sessions in June. Please make a point to attend the meeting. If you have any questions before the schedule meeting in June. Please contact Mrs. Colon in the guidance office at (617) 635-8109.
