Payment maybe made by personal check, money order or cash. Make checks payable to I.R.R.A.Due to over whelming response, prepayment of entry fee is greatly recommended.

$25.00 per person entering the pit area. No Grandstand tickets will be accepted in the pits.

Pit Gate will open three hours before the race. Pit meeting will begin one hour before the race.

There is to be NO drinking in the pits before or during the race!

LAP COUNTING INSTTRUCTIONS

  1. All lap counters must check in at the pit gate with the car. You will be given your lap counting sheet at that time.
  2. Only the official lap counter will be allowed in the lap counting area – NO children or friends please.
  3. Be sure to turn your lap sheet into an official at the break and again following the event. If you don’t turn the sheet in on time, your results will not be official and your car will be disqualified.
  4. Starting time – as soon as the green flag is given, write in line one. The first time your car passes between you and the time clock. 1234567
  5. Red Flag – all counting stops at the time of the red flag and will resume on the green flag.
  6. If your car goes out and then comes back on later in the race, write down the time when the car passes the clock on the very next empty line (don’t skip any lines).
  7. Bring your own clip boards and pencils.

Any areas not covered in the rules shall be left up to the discretion of the tech committee if they feel your car is not deemed safe or legal to run you will not run. Management and the Tech Committee reserves the right to refuse entry to any.

  1. Street cars, Rangers, S – 10’s, El Camino and Mini – vans are ok.
  2. Seat belts are required and shoulder harnesses are required (factory stock ok).
  3. All glass (including mirrors), door handles, headlights, taillights and exterior chrome must be removed. Including headlight mounts and assembly. Anything that can fall off on the track must be removed. Hood latches must be removed. No profane language or gang related symbols to be on the car.
  4. Stock seat allowed.
  5. Roof signs are required you will not run if you do not have a roof sign with your number on it, this helps officiating and on red flag stops to help identify a car much faster and safer.

10 X 10 or bigger.

  1. Fuel tanks can be either in front of rear axles or further most part forward in the trunk and must securely fastened and covered. Aftermarket tanks are approved and ok.
  2. Battery location must be located in the cab area and fastened and covered. You will not run if your battery is located under the hood. If we feel the placement of the battery or gas tank is not safe you will be asked to change it.
  3. Radiator must be in stock location.
  4. Bumpers are interchangeable with any make or model. If you choose to make a homemade bumper your bumper is to be 4 x 4 x ¼ or less, must be square or round and no caps on the end of the bumpers. No sharp points will be allowed you will have to cut your bumper if your bumper is not legal.
  5. DOT approved tires allowed. No Bobcat tires or skid steer tires, you will not run. No studded tires.
  6. Full face helmets are required and protective eyewear.
  7. 6 Point cage will be allowed. Halo bars are allowed. You must keep your cage in between the front hub and the rear axle. Cage is not to be outside of the car excluding the halo bar.
  8. No reinforcing of frames will be allowed if you are found to have plated pinned or stuffed your frame with anything you will automatically be disqualified and not refunded.
  9. Engine: No aftermarket Carburetors. Holley 2 barrel Carbs are ok. Motor must be stock appearing. Headers through the hood are ok. Exhaust is not to run into the passenger compartment or cab.
  10. Windows must have bars or some type of mesh covering the front windshield to protect the driver and passenger. Mess must be bolted, welded or sheet metal screwed. This is required of there is nothing in your windshield you will not run.
  11. Doors: Maybe welded. If you choose to weld, welds must be a minimum of 3 spots of 3 inches per door seam minimum. If you choose to use chain, you must use a minimum of 3/8ths chain and 2 spots per door seam. This is a safety requirement. If we feel your vehicle is unsafe to run, you will be asked to make it safe.
  12. Trunks: If your gas tank is located in the trunk you are required to chain your trunk shut minimum of one chain. 3/8thsminimum. If your gas tank is located in front of your rear axle you are allowed to bolt your trunk shut, minimum of 3/8ths bolts.
  13. Hoods: Hoods will be chained with 3/8ths chain minimum.
  14. Wheel wells maybe cut out or bolted or folded to prevent tires from going flat. No sharp edges or you will be required to cut them off.
  15. Red Flag: You must stop immediately. Violators will be suspended from that segment if you do not stop within a reasonable amount of time.
  16. Rear ends: Will not be locked or spooled. Rear ends that come factory limited slip will be allowed. Your vehicle must be 2-wheel drive at all times. If you are caught with a 4wd you will be disqualified. 4wd vehicles are allowed but one shaft must be removed.If you show up with a locked or welded rear end you will not be allowed to run and will not be refunded.
  17. Must have a minimum of 2 working brakes.
  18. Stock suspension must be ran, no welding, bolting or chaining to improve suspension.
  19. If you feel your vehicle may not be allowed to run call Collin Anderson at 218-969-9673. This is if you fell your car is considered to be illegal based on make or model.
  20. All cars must go through tech before the event. You will be given a tech sheet upon entry into the pits. You will be teched inside the pit gate in the order that entered the pit. Your sheet will be given to the Tech Officials. Anything that is unsafe or illegal will be put on that tech sheet. You then will have the opportunity to go into your pit and fix those issues. Once you have completed the list, you will need to return with your car and tech sheet to the re-tech line. An official will then check everything that had to be fixed. If you fail or refuse to make changes upon re-tech you will not be allowed to run and will not be refunded. This goes for all cars except the Doom car.
  21. All cars must be in the tech line by 6:30 pm.
  22. No radio communication is allowed. It is unfair to other contestants and interferes with the Officials communications.
  23. All drivers must be 16 years of age or older. Drivers under 18 years old must provide notarized parental permission to accompany the entry form.
  24. Only pre-entered cars will be guaranteed a starting position. It is to your advantage to get your entry form in early.
  25. The race will only consist of 1 event. It will last up to 100 laps.
  26. Each car must provide 1 person to supervise lap counting. This person must check in with the car at the pit gate and must stay on his or hers assigned position throughout the entire race. There will be a mandatory meeting for the Lap counters and Drivers in the pits, before the event.
  27. All decisions will be up to the tech committee if we feel your car is deemed not safe to run you will not run. Your car must pass tech before you will be allowed to run.

  29. All cars left on the track or in the pits become the property of Iron Range Racing Association (I.R.R.A.) to be disposed of as the I.R.R.A. sees fit.
  30. Each car must carry a red flag in the car, approximately 6” x 8”, to wave at the flagman in case of emergency. Flags can be rented at the track for $5.
  31. Driver can only drive the car they registered to race. Driver cannot change cars.
