The iPhone 6: Worth the Money; Worth the Time

The method of informing I am using for this infomercial is description and I am writing for an audience of middle aged and older adults who may be reluctant to invest the money to purchase an iPhone 6 or the time to learn to use it.

It is late at night and you’ve had to work after-hours again. As the clock strikes one a.m., you exit your office building to an empty and dark parking lot. Even walking at a brisk pace, your car is a good two minutes away. You nervously scan the dimly lit parking lot but it doesn’t do much good. So you reach into your pocket and pull out your old flip phone cell phone. Then you see it. No bars. No reception. No access to help if you need it.

Or imagine another scenario: it is a scorching July afternoon. You are 150 miles into a 300 mile journey to visit the grandkids when the car overheats and you find yourself one the side of a desolate road smack in the middle of nowhere. The air conditioning isn’t working and you forgot to pack fresh water. But thankfully you didn’t forget to pack your iPhone 6. You pull out your phone and with a sigh of relief realize you have full reception, even here in the heart of nothingness. Within minutes, help is on the way.

The two scenarios presented above present two potentially very different outcomes. What distinguishes them most, though, is that the couple in the second narrative have the advantage of owning an iPhone 6, one of the most reliable, high performing, and user-friendly cellular phones on the market. Choosing a cellular phone that meets your needs without emptying your wallet is no easy task, but there is a reason that the iPhone product line continually outperforms leading competitors. There is a reason why engineers and business execs, why tech junkies and teachers, why grandmas and gamers alike can be found camping on line for hours and days at a time, waiting for the release of the latest iPhone incarnation. Because when it comes to cellular phones, the iPhone 6 is without rival. In the world of high-priced, cutting-edge cellular technology, only the iPhone 6 is worth the money and the time it commands.

The iPhone 6 is among the most expensive of today’s pricey high-end cellular phones, sometimes commanding upwards of $1000 or more. But in exchange for that, you get the most powerful handheld technology on the market, a virtual supercomputer in the palm of your hand. The iPhone 6 is a champion at multitasking, running a host of memory-devouring applications with the grace and confidence of a Cirque du Soleil acrobat. It can fly from an internet search to a FaceTime chat with the greatest of ease. It can talk, text, search, game, and record virtually simultaneously and with lightning fast speed.

Above all, though, the iPhone 6 is the most reliable phone on the market. No more dropped calls or reception deserts. You will be able to call anyone, anywhere, at any time. That is connection and that is security at the touch of a button.

But despite being one of the most powerful and innovative technologies on the market today, the iPhone 6 is incredibly user-friendly. It has an intuitive interface, meaning that that the more you play, the more you learn. You don’t need fancy tutorials or complicated instruction manuals to learn to use this phone. Just hold it in your hand and start swiping. The phone will show you what to do next. And unlike the car you drove into the fence when you were a fifteen year old student driver or the microwave you set on fire before you learned that microwaves and aluminum foil don’t mix, the iPhone 6 is virtually indestructible!

So don’t let the millennials have all the fun. For its reliability, performance, and ease of use, the iPhone 6 is well worth the investment in time and in money. It provides the comfort of knowing that you are never disconnected from the ones you love, the security of ensuring you are never beyond the reach of help when you need it. Plus, you don’t need to still have your baby teeth to learn how to use it!
