INVITATIONS AND MEMORIAL RESOLUTIONS
To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (S.828) to request that the Department of Transportation name the section of Highway 76, in Sumter County, from the SumterLee County line to its intersection with Lafayette Street, etc., respectfully

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO REQUEST THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NAME THE SECTION OF HIGHWAY 76, IN SUMTER COUNTY, FROM THE SUMTERLEE COUNTY LINE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH LAFAYETTE STREET THE “MAYOR WILLIE M. JEFFERSON HIGHWAY” AND ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS ALONG THIS PORTION OF HIGHWAY CONTAINING THE WORDS “MAYOR WILLIE M. JEFFERSON HIGHWAY”.
Whereas, Willie M. Jefferson served as the Mayor of Mayesville. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly request that the Department of Transportation name the section of Highway 76, in Sumter County, from the SumterLee County line to its intersection with Lafayette Street the “Mayor Willie M. Jefferson Highway” and erect appropriate markers or signs along this portion of highway containing the words “Mayor Willie M. Jefferson Highway”.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
