ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2005

WEDNESDAY 6TH JULY 2005

Annual General Meeting of the Club was held at the Canine Centre, Southern River commencing at 8.00pm with the following members present:-

Marion Watson, Lorraine Della, Gerry Gentelli, Trudi Willoughby, Erika Wallington, Garry Jones, Heather Jones, Joe Watson, Dennis Smith, Rochelle Gordon, Rhonda Smith, Rebecca Preston, Phillip Hanshaw and Sarah Jones.

Apologies were received and noted from:- Leslie Della, Val Steicke, Keith Steicke, Angie Sparks, Jonnene Yeates, Dee Collins, Brett Wallington, and Zane Preston.

Minutes of the 2004 AGM were read and moved for acceptance by Lorraine Della, seconded Rebecca Preston.

Matters Arising from Minutes NIL

Presidents Report: A verbal report was given from Heather Jones, where she thanked all members for their support over the past year, along with thanks to the small but dedicated band of committee persons. It was obvious that members supported the social events organised by Rebecca as there had been good turnouts for our Parkerville Picnic in August, walk at Perry Lakes in December, beach walk in February and the recent Whiteman Park outing, even though the weather had been quite inclement. Our Championship Show in October had an entry of 57 Beagles and our Open Show in May had an entry of 19. She also thanked Dennis Smith who had responded to our Plea in the June newsletter for someone to help with our Webpage. Dennis has completely re-vamped our webpage with excellent results. Treasurers Report was circulated showing that we had a Balance of $1549.00 in our current account and a Balance of $9756.00 in the Home Building Society Investment account, making total cash assets $11305.00. There were also stocks of items for sale, these included 1 shirt, car stickers and pens and assorted other items for our National.

Election of Office Bearers and Committee for ensuing year

The returning officer, Joe Watson then took the chair and called for 2 scrutineers, Gerry Gentelli and Dennis Smith came forward and nominations were opened. The following were duly elected:

President Heather Jones

Vice President Erika Wallington

Secretary Marion Watson

Treasurer Marion Watson

Committee There were no nominations for committee and nominations were called from the floor, Rochelle Gordon was nominated, but declined. There were some willing people but they were reminded of Canine Regulations that dictate that committee members must be financial members of Canine.

Auditor for the year to be again Gerard Horgan ,of Salitage Wines if he was willing.

Patrons for the ensuing year were Mrs J Yeates, Mrs M McArdle and Mrs Cochrane, letter to be sent to them, hoping that they would agree with the nomination.

The President then resumed the chair and a Vote of Thanks for our returning officer, Joe Watson and the 2 scrutineers was met with applause.

Honorariums:

These to remain the same as previous year, Secretary $50.00, Treasurer $50.00, Auditor $50.00.

Newsletter declined.

These moved for payment by Phil Hanshaw and Erika Wallington

Annual Fees

After discussion it was decided that these remain the same as previous year at $20.00 family membership.

Moved Heather Jones, seconded Erika Wallington.

General Business

Moved by Erika Wallington that Fees for advertising be set by committee and rates be included in the Newsletter. Seconded by Rebecca Preston CARRIED

Moved by Erika Wallington that committee have control over which adverts are to be accepted for publishing and no adverts are to be published without prior approval of committee.

Seconded by Rochelle Gordon CARRIED

Moved by Loraine Della that AGM minutes be printed in next Newsletter rather than wait a year to see them Seconded by Dennis Smith CARRIED

Dennis would also publish them in the Webpage as soon as available.

Congratulations were given to the Champion Shows Top Dog and Top Bitch points score winners for 2004. Trophies has already been presented to Dog: Aust CH MAYSTER SLAP DASH

and Bitch Aust Gr CH & NZ CH BREVARI MARGEAUX.

This competition closed with our Champ Show each year in October.

However the Open Show Top dog and Top bitch competition went right on well into December and the following trophies were then presented for 2004.

The Engraved Trophies from our May Open Show were also presented

The Mac Encouragement Award for Juniors was presented to Sarah Jones, along with a framed photograph.

There being no further business the meeting was closed at 8.50pm and members were invited to partake of refreshements.
