Ramblin's from Leland
I was at the cross county mall in Mattoon and thought it would be nice to see a mid-winter Oil and Gas/ Memorabilia show and swap in the old Walgreen's or So-Fro areas.
How about the Christmas party brown bag not being a brown bag at all but just auction off the items people bring?
When and where to have the Christmas party? How about some new games to play.
How about the club having a swap space at the fall Indy swap meet in September?
Sometime in the future, have the club purchase a lot of building in the Neoga area for a club house.
Bring your thoughts to the next meeting ------
Thursday Aug. 16th @ 6:30 Neoga park
A lot of fun was had on the last Less Sitting/More Getting to the Newton drive in. It was good to see all the kids playing all kinds of games before the show – Ratouliee the show could have been better. A problem was had when we saw that they had no speakers on the post. The Drive-In wanted you to use your own FM radio for sound. The members who attended did not have a F.M. Radio in their cars. Spanky’s 60 Desoto and Dennis Overton and Wife Bonnie with a 56 Chevy had AM radios. The Drive-in furnished portable AM-FM radios to us. The second show wasn’t any better than the First…but the beverages were good. Wish more of the club could have been there.
I’m still working on a couple of tours, let you know.

A little Frog Follies history:
Since 1975 the E’ville Iron Street Rod Club has put on a rod run for street rod owners in August. It is held at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center in Evansville Indiana. At the first event we had 44 street rods registered. Since that time the Frog Follies has grown to an average of over 4000 street rods each year. The event became known as the Frog Follies after the club had a bull frog race at the first event. We’ve had entries from Alaska, Australia, Canada, and all 48 continental states over the years.
