GRC December meeting minutes

YMCA Swim Program and Day Passes:
Lisa has the information and vouchers for free YMCA lessons for Georgetown 2nd graders. The information will be in the school newsletter for two weeks before the Christmas break. There are two sessions this winter and they will be offered again in the Spring. There was discussion on adding free lessons for 3rd graders; the committee decided to wait and see how many 2nd graders take advantage of the lessons first.
The GRCstill has some YMCA day passes which can be picked up at the town office. Lisa will have this info posted in newsletter, as well.

Holiday in the Harbor: “Lighting of the Tree” celebration December 4
Trolley rides around the “loop” from 4-5:30
(The committee requisition $40 tip for Charlie the Trolley driver)
Lisa and Joyce will take care of Hot Coco/Cookies
George will bring the fire ring and Lisa the wood from Woodex
Paul will get the tree and the wreath. (Joyce will get tree for the Robinhood Rd)
Lisa, Paul, Joyce (and Richard)will put up the tree and lights on Sunday morning
Cheryl will get the candy canes
Paul has a CD player to play Christmas songs

Fishing Derby/Sledding Party in February.
Discussion of changing it to just a Sledding Party. The IF&W free fishing weekend is Feb 18-19, 2017. If a sledding party will have it at Woodex on the Bay Pt Rd. Lisa will work with Woodexto get the hill prepped for the event. Once we set a date Paul will order the porta-potty.

Winter activities (game day) for seniors at the CC (as discussed and tabled at last meeting)
Joyce said the CC was available on Thursday as long as they were done by 6pm
The committee requisitioned $125 for said activity which would run from January to April.
Further discussion at next meeting on exact times and dates for this activity.

Paul asked the committee to send the following thank you notes to: Tom McCandles for his help and donation of tennis balls and to Jason Barabe for his help with the wreath and tree lighting this year. Lisa will send out the thank you notes on behalf of the GRC.

Other: George brought up the idea to rent a bus next season to go to a Seadog game. Further discussion on this idea forthcoming.
