  1. Competition winners

Our congratulations went to Phil Smith and Jamie McGhee who won the GR Taylor random Christmas pairs competition. Also congratulations went to Dave Bell who won the Christmas Jumper competition. It was the best turnout we have had so far for the Christmas competition.

  1. Next Competition - Grantham flooring 501 pairs.

Members were informed that the WDO Grantham flooring 501 pairs would be a week on Friday 13.01.17 at Tetleys. They were reminded that individuals needed to register on the night between 7.00pm and 7.30pm, and that the draw would take place hopefully after the meeting.

  1. Returning of competition trophies

The SHP 3-man = M.Addison, D. Delooze, D. Bell – Borough arms, was returned.

The GR. Taylor Singles = S. Gow – Penketh Tavern Pirates, was returned.

It was asked if the winners of last year’s Monday night knockout competition could return the main trophy at the February meeting? These being the Borough arms

  1. Feedback has now been received from most members; hopefully the committee can come up with an option that would suit all, with information to be given at future meetings.

Recap:

Members were informed of the timetable of events for any. That being:

Any proposals for changes to the summer league must be received by the committee at this meeting for voting on at the February one. Any changes to the winter season must be received by the committee at the April meeting for voting at the May meeting.

At the moment the only proposal received is one from the Kings club who wish that the singles section of our current format is reduced from 2 legs per player to one leg per player, thus making a total of 12 legs in all. They have proposed this for both summer and winter. It will be voted on at the relevant meeting.

If anyone feels as though they have other ideas please speak to us about them and we can then consider and discuss them further.

  1. Members were informed of the current ‘Player of the season’ current rankings:

Joint 10th on 24 points – Ben Jones Alliance, C. Morris Poplars, R. Cooke Alliance

9th on 30 points – R. Ambrose Earlstown

8th on 36 points – P. Lloyd Pirates

7th on 54 points – K. Stringer Alliance

6th on 60 points – S. Gow Pirates

Joint 3rd on 72 points – P. Smith Turf and Feather, A. GoodierHowley, P. Clarke Howley

2nd on 96 points – J. McGhee Pirates

1st on 102 points – Dean Pindard Alliance.

Members were reminded that points are awarded for reaching the last 16 of a singles comp, or the last 8 of any other comp. We are now half way through the competitions. There are still plenty of points to be won.
