2017JohnsonCounty Scholarship Contest
($1,500.00 in College Scholarships will be awarded)
Sponsored by the Johnson County Cattlemen’s and Cattlewomen’s Association
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be or have been active in 4-H and/or FFA work in Johnson County.
- Applicant must enter a curriculum leading toward an agricultural-related field.
- Applicant must have made application for admittance to a college, university, or tech school.
- Applicant must be able to meet college entrance requirements.
- Applicant must not be a former recipient of this award.
- Applicant or their family must be a current member of the Johnson County Cattlemen’s Association. If applicant or parent was not a previous year member, you need to buy a 3-year membership.
- Applicant must be a senior in high school or currently a freshman in college.
Selection:
- Selection is based on 4-H and/or FFA accomplishments, scholarship, future education plans, and need.
- Applicant must meet with the selection committee for personal interview on the date and time to be determined by the Johnson County Cattlemen’s Association.

The following must be completed to receive the Johnson County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship:
- 2.5 Cumulative GPA
- 6 Hours Completed at any JohnsonCounty Cattlemen Sponsored Event
First semester final grades towards an Agriculture field must be submitted with at least an overall 2.5 GPA. Grades once completed at the end of the semester can be submitted to the Johnson County Cattlemen President.
Along with grades, 6 hours of volunteer work must be completed at any Johnson County Cattlemen Sponsored Event. Each event attendance and volunteer work must be recorded by the scholarship recipient and turned into the Johnson County Cattlemen President.
Once all the requirements are fulfilled and turned into the Cattlemen President, the scholarship check will be sent to the college.
