GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

April 24, 2017

7:30 P.M.

UNAPPROVED MINUTES - These minutes are preliminary and intended for review. The minutes will be approved or amended at the next General Meeting in August 2017. Attendance sheet reflected that 18 parents were present. Our meeting began with our club prayer.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT (Kelley Kluener)

·  Welcome and Introductions

·  We had elections tonight for next year’s Mom &Dad’s Club Board. Unanimous results for election were recorded.

·  The executive meeting will be in the conference room off the cafeteria in May. The general meeting next month will be at 7:30 in the chapel with a reception following in the cafeteria. We will exchange information with new members joining the Board.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT (Dianne Hergenrother)

·  Newsletter coming out recognizing outgoing members and wrapping up the year’s events.

·  Thinking of doing a combined activity with Mercy’s Dad’s Club. Wednesday, May 17th is a possible date for this. More information to come on this.

RECORDING SECRETARY (Debbie Tensing)

·  Approval of General Meeting Minutes- Kelley Kluener asked for approval of the March 2017 minutes submitted by Debbie Tensing. Cathy Lawson moved to approve. Lori Tonnis seconded. The minutes were unanimously approved and submitted.

TREASURER’S REPORT (Niccia Smith)

·  Beginning Balance 3/1/16 $ 20,274.37

·  Total Income 6,145.82

·  Total Disbursements (2,624.39)

·  Ending Balance 3/31/16 $ 23,795.80

COMMITTEE REPORTS

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY/PUBLIC RELATIONS REPORT (Kim Hartig & Tina Griffiths)

·  Sent out Congrats for baby cards.

·  Working on dates for freshman welcome parties.

Membership (Amy Staubach

·  Extra directories available for anyone who needs one.

Ways & Means/Fundraising (Tammi Hoffman, Laura Heidorn & Jennifer Freese)

·  Snow Bug coming first three Wednesdays in May. Will be out in front of school. Welcome to younger siblings also.

·  Amazon Smiles - Please log on to smile.amazon.com before making purchases on Amazon. By selecting "McAuley High School" as your charitable organization, our club receives a percentage of sales on eligible purchases.

·  The Mike’s Car Wash and Buddy Cards are available in the business office.

·  Please log on to Kroger’s website select McAuley in your Kroger Community Rewards using McAuley code #81917. You should no longer have to go in and renew your McAuley Commitment. Will stay with whatever organization you have selected.

·  Please visit the Mom and Dad’s Club page on McAuley’s website to view all fundraisers available and how to support them!

Student Raffle (Mary Beth Mouch)

Mother/Daughter Breakfast (5/12/17) (Melanie Crowe, Amy Honkomp & Kim Adams)

·  Behind schedule on sign up for food. Please volunteer for these food items. We have volunteers willing to staff event.

Baccalaureate 5/22/17 (Cathy Lawson & Linda Threm)

·  Food is ordered and volunteers are all set for this event. Will be similar to last year’s Baccalaureate.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT (Dan Minelli)

·  Updates on transition committee – every Tuesday morning for 2-3 hours we meet to discuss progress on transition. Things are moving along. Trying to be as transparent as possible. Tiers of decisions will be made.in order of importance. Academic pieces are very critical to be completed so we can market the new high school. External branding company, Madison Design, to work on an initial prospectus to see what people want. Other significant piece being worked on is advancement so we are able to actualize funds. Trying to keep everything as normal as possible for next year. 126 incoming freshman enrolled. Transfer students pending. Only two or three students have chosen to switch from Mercy and come here.

·  Wednesday night is Awards Night. 597 Awards will be given out.

·  Less than five weeks of school left.

·  Adding more high top tables and stools to the student area would be a request for Mom & Dad’s Club to fund.

ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL’S REPORT (Connie Kampschmidt0

·  Sisters of Mercy made a cookie for every student at McAuley last week to show their care and concern for each student.

·  Mohawk Madness right before spring break, the first half there were booths set up and they could visit and win prizes. Second half was kickball, chalk drawing, and jump rope. It was a beautiful day and was a way to celebrate together.

·  Academic Awards Banquet is Wednesday. Service related awards were taken out and senior awards were added.

·  Thursday night is Harmony Showcase with LaSalle.

·  AP exams coming up first two weeks of May.

·  May 3rd next week is a 1:10 dismissal. Sisters are coming back to meet with all the faculty members.

·  May 12th Mother Daughter Mass and Breakfast.

·  May 15th Closing Mass.

·  Senior Exams May 17-19.

DOOR PRIZES

·  Tammi Hoffman won a Pink McAuley T-shirt and Jenny Freese won a Yellow McAuley T-shirt.

ADJOURNMENT

·  The next meeting will be on May 15th at 7:30 p.m. in McAuley’s cafeteria annex. All are welcome!

·  The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. Motion to adjourn was made by Jenny Dillenberger and was seconded by Dianne Hergenrother.
