It is the guides and scouts in Denmark, who arrange the camp. The guides and scouts in Denmark have approx. 60,000 members. Last time a big jamboree was held in the country was in Holstebro in 2012 with 37,000 participants.

The jamboree is held from the22 to 30 July 2017at a scenic area close to Sønderborg and right down to Alssund. The campground is 766 acres, equivalent to 600 football fields.
The Jamboree vision is:With Jamboree 2017 we wish to leave impressions in ourselves, each other and the world around us

Theme:We leave impressions.

At the camp site there is a place to make a fire, where the groups will prepare their own food. There will be supply of food, so all cultural and religious regards are taken into consideration.
The sub-camp participates in a joint full-day activity – and the individual company or troop can choose to participate in a number of exciting open activities.
There are the big events like campfire, opening ceremonies etc.
It will be a week with fellowship, educational activities and good experiences.

Who can go?

We are looking for West Lancashire Cubs and Scouts who will be old enough and invested as a Scout prior to the start of the trip. Any Scout older than 14.5yrs at time may not attend as a Scout but can apply as one of the young leadership team.

How much will it cost?

The estimated cost will be £695 for the entire trip, including flights & transport, accommodation, jamboree fee which includes food and all on and off site activities and scout travel insurance. We aim to book all flights and transport early to get the best prices and by the end of 2016 we will be in a position to finalise costs to you all.

The £695 does not however include any of the three planned training weekends prior to the trip. The costs for these will be kept minimal and used to get to know one another, build team work, program plan, understand local culture and all while having fun, smiling and laughing. It also does not include any official ‘Go Denmark’ clothing to be designed by the young people.

To reduce the cost we aim to support and organise fundraising for the trip and of course, the more you make, the cheaper the trip J. We will need everyone to support this to make them successful and if anyone has ideas please get in touch.
