How to………..Keep a notice board

How to……………Keep a notice board.

What is a notice board?

A notice board is a space where you can put up road safety messages, information and posters, where everyone will be able to see them.

Who is it for?

Your notice board is for everyone in school;, teachers, pupils and visitors. Make sure you keep it bright and interesting for everyone to read.

What information will there be?

There are always posters and information on the website, linked to the road safety themes, which you can download, or, you could use artwork produced in school to promote an activity or give share information.

Where should I put my notice board?

Ideally your notice board should be in a place where everyone can see it; maybe in the hall or in a corridor that everyone uses.

When do I need to change my notice board?

We recommend updating your notice board about once a month. If it is updated regularly, people will take more notice of the information and messages displayed.

Where do I get help?

You can always check out the JRSO website for ideas, information, posters and messages. You can ask your RSO for help, and your helper in school is also there to assist you.

How do I get started?

First, agree with your helper where you can put your notice board. Then decide how you will make it stand out. You may want to put a bright border around it, or use a contrasting background colour;then think about what messages you will put up first. Try not to make it too busy. Keep it simple and it will look amazing!

What should I put on my notice board?

A good place to start is to let everyone know who the JRSOs are, with some photos. Use your planner for ideas on themes. Put up posters showing key messages to that term’s theme; you may want to use some artwork created in class. Always check with your helper before you put anything up on your notice board.

Why is it important?

Your notice board is a fantastic way of getting road safety messages to everyone, and letting people know any JRSO news. Different people remember road safety messages in different ways. An eye catching poster may help someone remember a message, which could save a life.
