Choosemyplate.gov / scroll to the bottom and choose Online Tools /Daily Checklist/ in the first paragraph click on blue “Daily Food Checklist” (formerly Daily Food Plan), Enter personal data – click calculate /choose the blue “your recommended calorie plan/ open document/ print- make sure it is set on LANDSCAPE to L503 page 1 and 2 /Transfer the information from page one onto your green index card. Use page 2 for the Meal Tracking Worksheet.

On the yellow half/slip of paper write down everything you ate yesterday for Breakfast/lunch/dinner/and snacks. Using page 2 from above, break the foods into their individual food groups and estimate servings you consumed. (grains and meats are in ounces & fruit, veggies, and dairy are in cups) Use the worksheet calculate and analyze your food intake. Be sure to complete column 2,3, and 4. On the back summarize how you feel you did yesterday. Did you get enough from each group? Too much from any particular group? Where and how could you do better tomorrow? Did you exercise enough?

Go back to the home page and click on audiences. Choose Children, Kids, scroll down and Click on Blast Off game and read the mission briefing and how to launch. Play the game using what you ate yesterday. After entering everything from yesterday’s diet try to blast off. Did you get to Planet Power the first time? Yes No Try again if not. When you make it you will need to print (or show me or print it with your name on it) the certificate proving completion of this exercise.
