Directions for School Leadership Team: As part of the February School Improvement Training we will engage in collaborative conversation and share best practices based on each school’s Mid Year School Improvement Reflections. After input from the leadership team, each school is asked to bring this completed form to the training.

Reading teachers will differentiate instruction specific to each student's individual lexile reading level by utilizing the research-based program,
English Language Arts teachers will utilize the online tutorial, remediation, and enrichment components within the My HRW portal as well as USA Test Prep portal in order to increase the reading proficiency for all students.
English Language Arts teachers will infuse the online elements of Google Classroom and/or My HRW to create writing prompts where students can practice responding via computer.
Science teachers will utilize common assessments and journaling in classes.
Social Studies teachers will infuse more primary source documents into their classrooms. Students are encouraged constantly to focus on claims and main ideas from these documents.
Reading and writing in Spanish and French in the tree modes of communication, Presentational, Interpersonal and Interpretative.
Spanish teacher will use and assign on-line tutorials and extra practice from the new on-line based program "Broward.schoology.com".
CADRE groups will work together using the CADRE Cycle model to select appropriate on-line Schoology reviews and extension activities for remediation and enrichment.
B, Gaps that exist between our current state and our desired state are that our testing scores will be skewed in math and Science the FSA because many of those students will be taking the EOC instead due to them being a high school credit class. Also because we do generally have high scores it is difficult to make significant leaning gains in many of our state exams.
C. They will be addressed on by listening to teachers during their PLC’s and Cadre’s in order to get a better understanding of our proficiencies and lack of proficiencies straight from the source of the teachers.
2. Have alterable barriers been eliminated or reduced? (Alterable barriers are in-house infrastructure mechanisms such as scheduling, class structures, teacher attendance, student attendance, staff development plan, etc.)
A. What evidence do you see that a barrier has been reduced or eliminated?
B. What evidence do you have that the barriers are wide-reaching and will help you achieve your goal?
C. If progress towards eliminating the barrier is not sufficient, where or what is the breakdown?
D. Did you identify other barriers that could serve as effective re- entry points into the plan?
A. Bringing school-wide awareness to the importance of school attendance. The program “attendance counts” was aimed at spreading the word throughout the school about the importance of student attendance. Posters stating “attendance counts” were placed in the parent pick up areas and other high volume areas throughout the school.
B. The evidence is showing that the absenteeism has been reduced significantly. This is helping us reach our goal by creating more awareness to students and parents about the importance of being present in class.
C. We are making progress so this does not apply.
D. Yes, by utilizing RtI to eliminate referrals there is a sense that students are more productive in class and this leads to better achievement. The more achievement being reached is also due to better attendance patterns due to lack of suspensions.
