ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP:
RENEWED TODAY CORPORATE MERGER CONTRACTS
BETWEEN THE COMPANY'S FIVE PREMISES

Rimini, 13th July 2017 – Corporate welfare, solidarity holidays, joint committees are the centre focus of the second level contract renewals for Italian Exhibition Group SpA, the events company created by the merger between Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza, which today, with the signing of the new Corporate Merger Contract for the Vicenza location, completes the operation articulated over all the company premises: Rimini - where the headquarters and the Palacongressi Conference Centre are located - Vicenza, Milan and Turin.

“This system of second level agreements has many innovative elements," explains IEG's Deputy Managing Director, Carlo Costa, who, together with his HR Staff, conducted the negotiations, "especially in regard to the concept of Work Life Balance, starting from extremely flexible working hours, necessary for a company that has workload peaks during events, and much appreciated by the workers, who can then better manage to plan their work-life time. In fact, there will no longer be set hours at any of IEG's premises. The employees will organize their hours in agreement with their managers so that the hours foreseen in their contracts are worked when most required. In this organizational context, there will also be room for Smart Working experimentation projects since being physically present in the company is not always necessary. Particular attention has been paid to seizing the enormous opportunities offered by Corporate Welfare systems, with undisputed fiscal benefits for employees, and which could further extend the way in which supplementary pension schemes are constructed, a topic that both the Company and Trade Unions wanted to focus on in order to safeguard the future of the younger employees. The solidarity holidays and time off clause, already enforced by the Job Act, has been introduced. Through this, employees will be able to voluntarily and anonymously transfer part of their holidays to colleagues who need to assist their spouses, young children or elderly parents. This motivational system has been re-modelled to include, besides a collective incentive system concerning company results, a system of individual objectives for all employees (from any department and at any level) so that everyone feels directly involved in achieving IEG's results. A technical panel - Joint Committee - will maintain constant dialogue between the company and its employees in search of improved efficiency and organization."

Lorenzo Cagnoni, President of IEG says, “This is an authentic example of innovation and modernity in the national event provider panorama and of a result characterized by the credibility of the Italian Exhibition Group project and that of the other parties - Company and Trade Unions. A credibility constructed, both in the history of Rimini and Vicenza, by years of investment in correct, transparent and respectful industrial relations, even in times when confrontation was at its most difficult.”

According to Corrado Facco, IEG's Managing Director: “Italian Exhibition Group, which has only existed for eight months and which has to amalgamate companies with different histories, traditions and values, has chosen to give priority to harmonizing contractual clauses and the uniformity of company working lifestyles for all its collaborators. An extremely important sign of change: the "Rimini" and "Vicenza" models have been abandoned, launching themselves into the IEG model. In fact, real integration is not possible if the employees and colleagues who perform the same functions, access very different regulation systems, because this would favour territorial sub-community identification, which is contrary to the idea of a widespread company, which is what our Company organization is aiming at.”

Innovations in financing modalities can also be found in this contract renewal: Italian Exhibition Group S.p.A. has invested new resources in this project, both directly and by "involving" the state through the use of defiscalization systems promoted by the Stability Law and Legislative Decrees, from which benefits may be reaped. The workers have also taken part to a significant extent by renouncing old contractual clauses and accepting to modify existing ones with a view to greater development for the future.
