·  LETTER OF INTENT: Please write one to two pages describing your interest in and experience with animals. Please include the following in the letter:

o  What factors have led you to want to become a veterinarian?

o  What contributions can a veterinarian make to the development of agriculture in Liberia?

o  Describe all positions (voluntary or paid) that have helped you learn about animals.

o  Describe any courses you have taken with direct relevance to animal science.

·  CURRICULUM VITAE or RESUME (Education, work experience, publications, etc.)

·  WEST AFRICAN EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL (WAEC) CERTIFICATE (LSHSCE or WASSCE)

·  UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS (If attended a university)

·  DEGREE CERTIFICATES (If graduated from a university or other tertiary institution)

·  PASSPORT IDENTIFICATION PAGE

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. Availability of scholarships is contingent upon sufficient funding from USAID;
  2. USAID reserves the right to direct candidates in choosing their intended areas of research, according to the Feed the Future objectives for that country (http://www.feedthefuture.gov/countries);
  3. Only short-listed candidates will be notified and contacted for interviews;
  4. Shortlisted candidates must take an English language test (paid for by BHEARD), which will be used in the selection process;
  5. Only finalists will be contacted for further processing;
  6. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a medical examination. Please see the USAID Guide for Medical Fitness Standards for Applicants (A-1382).
