FAA Contract Security Officer Firearms Qualification Course of Fire.
FAA contract security officers will qualify at least annually, and the FAA contract security officer provider shall provide written certification to the Facility Manager or their designated representative, that each individual to be assigned as an FAA security officer has successfully met the firearms training and firearms qualification requirements of this order. This written certification must be available onsite for SSE review prior to the individual assuming duties at an FAA facility. Each FAA contract security officer will qualify with the firearm assigned to them, by serial number, using the same ammunition carried on duty and stored for emergency use.
Each FAA contract security officer will qualify on a recognized law enforcement range, or other approved range under the supervision of a certified firearms instructor. The Facility Manager or their designated representative and the SSE shall be notified prior to qualification so as to permit them to observe the qualification.
During qualification the security officer attempting to qualify will wear the trouser belt, duty belt, magazine pouches, belt keepers, flashlight, BBP kit, handcuffs, OC foam/gel, collapsible baton, pistol and holster assigned to for daily use, as well as the required body armor/vest worn during routine duties.
FAA contract security officer will qualify using the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) course of fire or a standard course of fire prescribed by the State for armed guard security officer qualification that meets or exceeds the DHS standards. The course of fire used for qualification will be documented.
The contract security officer shall provide the needed data and sign the form at the end of this attachment, acknowledging compliance with the above direction. The Certified Firearms Instructor shall sign the bottom of the form at the end of this attachment, reporting the results of the qualification attempt.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Required Course of Fire
Firearms: Contract Authorized Handgun
Ammunition: Contract Authorized, 50 rounds
Target: DHS-ICE-QT (25yd) Silhouette by the American Target Company.
Qualification: A total of 50 rounds shall be fired with a maximum possible score of 250 points. Minimum qualification score is 200 points (80%)

2 / 3 YDS / 6 / Using two hands from the holster point shoulder shooting, referencing sights / On command the shooter will:
Drawand fire three rounds in the chest ofthe target in three seconds, and re-holster.
Draw and fire three roundsin three seconds to the chest, performa reload (emergency, tactical ormagazine exchange) and re-holster.

Two-handed shooting using the sights / On command the shooter will:
Drawand fire two rounds to the chest ofthe target and one round to the headof the target in five seconds andassume a high search position.
Fromhigh search, move to an aimed inposition and fire two rounds to thechest of the target and one round tothe head of the target in four seconds.
At the end of this stage, the twoheadshot rounds must be in the fiveringhead area for each to count asfive points. The head area outsidethe five-ring is worth two points.
Officers with a magazine capacity of less than twelve rounds will have to conduct a tactical reload or magazine exchange at the end of this stage of fire to be prepared for stage four.
4 / 7 YDS / 12 / One-handed shooting / On command, the shooter will:
Drawand fire three rounds, using bothhands, then transfer the weapon tothe strong hand only and fire threerounds, in ten seconds.
Perform areload (emergency, tactical ormagazine exchange), and re-holster.
Draw and fire three rounds, usingboth hands, then transfer the weaponto the support hand only and firethree rounds, in ten seconds.
Perform a reload (emergency, tacticalor magazine exchange), and re-holster.
5 / 15 YDS / 12 / Two-handed shooting from the standing and kneeling position / On command the shooter will:
Drawand fire six rounds from the standingposition in ten seconds.
Move to akneeling position.
When the targetedges, or command is given thatthreat has diminished, shooterperforms a reload (emergency,tactical or magazine exchange) infive seconds and assumes a readyposition.
When threat reappears, orcommand to fire is given, fire sixadditional rounds from the kneelingposition in ten seconds.
Officerswith a magazine capacity of less thantwelve rounds will have to conduct atactical reload or magazine exchangeat the end of this stage of fire to beprepared for stage six.
6 / 15 YDS / 4 / Barricade / On command the shooter will:
Takeone step to the rear and one to theright of the barricade.
When thethreat appears or command to fire isgiven, move to cover, draw and firetwo rounds from the right sidestanding barricade position, move tothe right side kneeling barricade andfire an additional two rounds, intwenty seconds.
While in a positionof cover, perform a magazineexchange.

Takeone step to the rear and one to theleft of the barricade.
When the threatappears or command to fire is given,move to cover and fire two roundsfrom the left side standing barricadeposition, move to the left sidekneeling barricade and fire anadditional two rounds, in 20 seconds.
Firearms Qualification Equipment Certification
This is to certify that I have met the firearms qualification/re-qualification criteria in the contract Statement of Work by meeting the following requirements:
I have qualified by firing the DHS or the State course of fire for security officers as required.
I have qualified with the same firearm, by serial number that I will carry on post, including any modifications to the grip and/or sights.
I have used the same type of ammunition that will carried on post (no reloaded, “match”, enhanced, +P, or +P+ ammunition).
I have worn the same equipment during qualification/re-qualification that I will be wear on post. [This does not apply to clothing, but rather to the duty gear such as the belt with all equipment attached such as holster, reloading devices (e.g. speed loaders and magazines), handcuffs, baton, gel spray, etc.]
