News from the Health Room

Students can be excused from gym for three days with a note from a parent. If the excuse is longer than three days a physician’s note is required. Please note: If a student is to be excused from gym, they will also be excused from outdoor recess. A note from a physician is required for students who need to use crutches, walkers or canes in school.

Don’t forget to order your yearbooks! This year we’ve added 8 new pages and kept the price the same as last year! There are 2 ways to purchase a yearbook. You can either order on line at: YBPAY.LIFETOUCH.COM and enter our school code: 3189216 or you can turn in your Lifetouch order form, with a check, to your child’s homeroom teacher. Extra order forms are available if needed. All orders are due by Friday, March 18th. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Wallace at: .

Carroll County Keys for Reading Month

On Monday, your student will bring home a bookmark and a flyer. Please be sure to review this information. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Christina Storie, ELA Specialist.

HERE'S HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:

  • Each student is required to read three books suitable for their reading ability in a one-month time period.
  • Each book will be recorded on an official Keys for Reading bookmark and will need to be signed by their parent or guardian.
  • Once completed, the parent will sign the bookmark and redeem the ticket(s) by following the instructions on the back of the bookmark for their student's night (or day) at the ballpark.
  • Each county will have a special weekend at the ballpark. Before the game, students who completed the program will be called down to the playing field for a parade and recognition ceremony. Names of the participating schools will be announced over the public address system for the entire to stadium to cheer. After the parade, the students are free to enjoy America's game, up close and personal.
  • Your student's FREE ticket will be good for ANY seat in the house! Whether it's General Admission or our Reserved or Field Seating, each family can decide where they would like to sit at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium!
