A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Wayne "Zeke" Secrest.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to our colleague and friend, Wayne "Zeke" Secrest.

WHEREAS, Wayne "Zeke" Secrest was born on November 18, 1926, a native of Lewis County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on December 15, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Wayne "Zeke" Secrest was the loving son of the late Amos and Daisy Fearis Secrest, he was the devoted husband of Betty Harrison Secrest, and he was the adored father of a son, Dane Wilson Secrest, and a daughter, Jill Secrest O'Cull, both of Vanceburg; and he was the proud grandfather of Chelcee O'Cull, Lance O'Cull and Brock O'Cull, and Jazz A. Secrest, all of Vanceburg, and he was the loving brother of a sister, Marian Harvey Secrest Parker, and a brother-in-law of Cincinnati, Ohio; and

WHEREAS, Wayne "Zeke" Secrest served his constituents from the ninety-sixth representative district of Lewis and Carter counties with honor and esteem in 1962, 1964, and 1966; and he also served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Navy; and

WHEREAS, Wayne "Zeke" Secrest was an esteemed member of the Vanceburg community where he was a barber, and he also was retired as Lewis County Property Valuation Administrator; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Wayne "Zeke" Secrest has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its utter sense of bereavement upon the passing of Wayne "Zeke" Secrest, our friend and colleague, and extends to his family and many friends its most profound and deepest sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Wayne "Zeke" Secrest.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Betty Harrison Secrest, HC75, Box 928, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
