Parents and Compass Family we have made it through the first week of school!

We have had several changes during the week, thank you for being so patient and flexible with us as we worked out the kinks of a new building.

This week we will be starting GoMath, our math program and Saxon Phonics, our phonics program. Also we will start homework it should be a max of 20 minutes. If it is taking longer or you have questions please contact your child’s teacher.

The kids are loving going to the Cafeteria/gym to eat lunch! Please continue to send clear liquids and lunches that don’t need to be heated up, as of now we are not able to heat lunches up. Thank you for using peanut butter alternatives for your sandwiches. Continue to keep lunches peanut/tree nut free. Some peanut butter alternatives are: Sneaky Chief, Cookie Butter, Sunflower Butter, and Wowbutter. For my own kids I add Cookie Butter or Hershey’s Spread Chocolate (not Nutella) to their Sunflower Butter sandwiches.

More choices for school clothes! This year we added navy blue, black, and kaki to the approved bottoms and we still have denim. Listed below are other dress code guidelines:

-  Shorts/skirts no shorter than 2 inches above the knee.

-  Denim bottoms or navy blue, black, or kaki uniform shorts/skirts/pants. No athletic shorts

-  Tennis shoes must have laces or Velcro, no slip on shoes.

-  No unnatural hair color or nonconforming hair styles

-  Boy hair length should be no longer than 1 inch below the ear lobes and eyebrows must be visible.

-  No Mohawks or faux Mohawks.

-  Compass Polo Monday – Thursday and Friday Compass Sprit shirt
