Gunther Ultra/Bond is a high quality adhesive formulated to provide a strong permanent bond between mirror (glass) and various substrates. Gunther Ultra/Bond‘s high strength formulation makes it ideal for most applications.Ultra/Bond’s versatile build out of ¾ “or compression to 1/32” makes it ideal for overlays, mirrored furniture, and medicine cabinets. Gunther Ultra/bond is perfect for vanity mirrors and for assembly lines using pneumatic pumping equipment.
Gunther Ultra/Bond at 72ºF achieves approximately 30% strength in 24 hours and full cure in 28 days. Ultra/Bond’s working consistency remains thru
a wide temperature range from 40ºF thru 100ºF and is easily applied using a caulk gun.
Gunther Ultra/Bond has a special formulation that prevents chemical breakdown over time. Ultra/Bond adheres to a wide variety of substrates including (but not limited to) drywall, wood, metals, glass, marble, tile, and concrete.
Do not use Ultra/Bond on acrylic mirror, foam products, wallpaper, or safety-backed mirrors.
Gunther Ultra/Bond will skin over in 20 seconds and will rewet upon application. Mounting time is 10 minutes. Ultra/Bond has an open time of approximately 25 minutes depending on humidity and temperature.
A 300 ml cartridge will cover 15 linear feet with a 3/8” bead.
Simply clean up uncured Ultra/Bond with mineral spirits.
Store Ultra/Bond at temperatures below 85ºFand above freezing.
Ultra/Bond base material is synthetic rubber, and contains toluene, textile spirits and acetone. Ultra/Bonds’ viscosity is 600,000 to 700,000 cps and is tan in color. One year shelf life when stored in a cool dry space in unopened container.
Ultra/Bond is flammable and may ignite explosively. Prevent buildup of vapors and open all windows and doors. Use with proper ventilation. Do not smoke, or use near any open flame or sparks whether electrical or other. Close container after use.
Gunther Ultra/Bond can be applied to many different substrates provided they are prepared correctly. Check for unsealed surfaces, loose plaster or paint, rust, etc. Where substrate is questionable sand to base substrate, clean area and seal with a good quality sealer. Gunther Prime-N-Seal® is recommended for all porous substrates. (The strength of the mastic is only as good as the substrate.)
Ultra/Bond should be applied in vertical beads ONLY the full length of the mirror spaced 5-6 inched apart allowing 3” from any edges to begin or end a bead.
