PARKING: Once unloaded, please park where the security men tell you. (probably in the middle of the course).
We will have Mark, our Parking Attendant when open, and exhibitors will not be permitted into the main carpark –
(reserved for customers). You can drop off, then must go where told. Disabled and Jewellers will have a special area.
VETTING: To start at 4.30 with Tea in the Turf Restaurant. Jewellery & paintings on Thursday 9.30am.
Hopefully exhibitors can stay to see there are no frightening rejections –
otherwise please arrive by 10am on Friday to deal with any vetting notes.
Vetters list overleaf- please check – names have been added!
STANDARDS & QUALITY
* Everything will be vetted slightly more strictly this time, to get into practice for an up-lifted standard in 2013.
– everything must be visibly labelled with as much info as possible. No copies/repros/pastiches after 1918, except rugs and silver. Everything after 1970 mu7st be accurately dated or called “modern”
Items which have been rejected must be removed before we open, NOT left on “for display only” or, worse, “SOLD”!
LIGHTS: You should have sent your Order Form & cheque to Phoenix 2 weeks ahead of the fair.
Late orders should be made at the Organiser’s desk, not verbally to Dave who will probably be up a ladder!
STORES: Ground floor: Boxes behind stands 5-10, furniture behind N1 (Ian Anderson)
First floor: Plenty of space behind the curtain beside the lift. (NB this is not a secure store)
Top floor: A room at the lift end, beyond Graham Reed.
Spare furniture At time of writing there is a spare stand on the first floor, for spare furniture.
Or along the corridor to Restaurant 1539, first floor. NOT at the top of the stairs on top floor (booked by M Melody)
ROOMS on top floor. Use of the Kitchenette is subject to tidiness and cleanliness at the end. You need to bring your own kettle, mugs etc, but you can use the fridge. Make a mess & the racecourse will lock the kitchen next time!
Please be very careful of the blue suede on walls. Remember you have signed that you have public liability cover!
CASH: We have arranged that the CASH MACHINE by the Office will dispense real cash!
2013: Bookings….. Hopefully you will all have received the details and initial application forms. Please bring these to us, and we will endeavour to issue new contracts during the Fair. These need to be signed and returned with deposits by 1st November to secure your Spring 2013 stands
At recent fairs we have been surprised that we need to say this to exhibitors:
To maintain / enhance the reputation of the fair, we rely on you to:
* Issue printed invoices for all sales over £20, which include your correspondence address & tel no
and a full description of the sold item – which you will honour if there is any dispute.
- Have Public Liability Insurance.
- Arrange your stand as attractively as possible and maintain it in a tidy, un-cluttered state!
- Be courteous to the visitors, and do not let them hear groups of exhibitors moaning about lack of business!
