General guidelines for product production!
Document Templates: On your memory stick there are templates for the various documents you will need to create. Be sure to “save as” using the naming protocols as soon as you begin a document.
Instructions for Products and Templates:
Cover Page: Enter the name and Publisher of your kit in the title box. Add the names of all group members that would like publishing credit for your documents next to the “contributor” title. If you have an image from your kit to replace the race car please feel free to replace it, just be sure we have copyright permission for the photo.
Learning progressions: Please complete these FIRST and make sure everyone has access to the final versions of the learning progressionsas all other documents will involve a lot of copy and paste from the learning progression. The final learning progression should reflect any changes your group would like to make based on your implementation and should include reference to all of the assessments you used. Be sure to double check your minutia.
Grid Overview: Please complete these LAST, these are the least important document as we can complete these on our own if need be once the other documents are completed. Info should be copied from the final learning progressions.
Assessment tasks:
For each learning progression complete an “assessment task cover sheet” which describes the tasks for each target on the learning progression. Info should be copied from the final learning progressions when possible.
- Save copies of blank “black line masters” of any student worksheet assessments that your team created on your memory stick using the assessment task file naming protocol
- For assessments without a student worksheet (whiteboards, thumbs up/down, etc.) be clear about the assessment directions on your learning progression and assessment cover sheet. If you feel the assessment is complicated enough to require further explanation, create a word document description and save it on your memory stick using the assessment task file naming protocol
- If you used an assessment AS-IS from FOSS or STC we do not need you to provide a blank, but be clear about the location of the assessment on your learning progression and assessment cover sheet (ex: student sheet 4 investigation 3).
- If you used an assessment AS-IS from another publication, please provide a blank AND the publicationinformation so that we can obtain copyright permission. Save it using the copyrighted assessment file naming protocol and check in with Nancy.
- If you MODIFIED an assessment from FOSS, STC or used copyrighted material from another publication (this includes using a copyrighted image and writing your own questions) please provide a blank AND the publication information so that we can obtain copyright permission Save it using the copyrighted assessment file naming protocol and check in with Nancy.
Student work:Check with Nancy about scanning/modifying PDFs/and other student work digitizing questions
- Please be sure to include a set (3-5 student work samples) from at least one assessment from each Learning Progression. Include student samples from additional tasks if you are able.
- Complete a student work cover sheet for each set of sample work.
- Choose to highlight student work from assessments that gave you useful information about student learning (don’t show student work from assessments you tried but did not find valuable)
- Choose student samples that show the range of student thinking about the topic (don’t choose all high or all low examples)
- Be sure student names are removed or blacked out (see Nancy if you need help with this)
- Be sure that you choose student work that is legible.
- Feel free to include images of white boards or other non-worksheet assessments as student work samples.
Optional Extra Info:
If your group feels that additional information should be included to explain the use of any of your materials or would like to include overarching commentary about the teaching of these materials, please use the optional extra info sheet for this purpose.
Bibliography:
A partially completed bibliography is included for you on your memory stick. Please add any additional resources that you reference in your learning progression or assessments.
