-Student strength less by 20.
-Asked for salary sheet register (can receive photo copy).
-12% increase can be assumed.
-Some project was to get income.
-Should keep local support continued.
-2007 March was when Suchita’s salary was 1800 and was to be made 2200.
-91 in hostel then, 73 now.
-166 has now become 171.
-Secretary is now teacher
-accountant post is new.
-Ask for audited 07-08.
-Performance is good. Teachers are good and work hard.
-Chirchu has intermediate college where they go after 5th standard (at 5 km from school).
-Another missionary intermediate school is there.
-Only cycle/bike can be used for transportation.
-Nearest town is hazaribaug (27 km)
-upto 23 km there is public transport (10 am to 3 pm).
Healthcare
-lots of diseases.
-No doctors at nearby hospitals.
-Only ayurvedic treatment available.
-Humid area, forest hence malaria.
-TB, skin diseases, asthama (coal mines)
-Medicine supply is there.
-Missionary hospital is about 11 km from school (hospital is well equipped).
-Health camps.
-Missionaries do not come much to JAHER since there is not much scope for their mission.
-There was proposal to government to set up hospital (lajerus was doing this, also lalji).
-Lajerus is RN. Another 2-3 staff has medicinal knowledge.
-Curriculum is given by Jharkhand government.
-Health education is given in school.
-Balance is maintained with respect to health of kids. (Harli has big health problems)
-Vallabh might go in July/August.
-Coal mining, fishery, wood cutting are main sources of employment.
-Rainy season (3-4 months) are tough since it brings unemployment.
-Rice (boiled, wild), fish, natural vegetables, herbs, roots are main sources of nutrition.
-Very less vegetables form part of the diet.
-Not a rich diet
-Very low land holding since they do not have vegetable farms.
-Average weight is 20-30 kgs, 4 ft. average.
-JAHER Muni gave up her mission for JAHER. (after 20 years)
-High rate of liquor consumption.
-Roads were being constructed.
-Employment Guarantee Scheme (NEGRA) is giving funds to area (roads, lakes canals are planned) and has started.
