Catering, Cleaning & Waste Manager

The self-employed person will be appointed on a consultancy contract

The fee for the contract will be agreed depending on experience

Location: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London

Duration of contract: Full-time basis from start date to 31st August 2017

In July and August 2017, the world’s top athletes will return to the Stadium in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

London 2017 will be the first time that the IAAF World Championships and the World Para Athletics Championships will be held in the same summer, in the same city. With 245 events spanning 20days and with 3,300 athletes from around the globe taking part, and one golden opportunity for you to be part of the action

We are looking for a consultant to work on an up to 8 month contract and act asthe Catering, Cleaning & Waste Manager to plan, develop and deliver a strategic Catering, Cleaning and Waste service that will ensure the London 2017 World Championships events run efficiently and within budget.

Other duties will include to;

  • Act as London 2017’s primary liaison and interface with Functional Areas for all CCW matters
  • Negotiate, procure and liaise with CCW service providers as required
  • Manage CCW service contractors across the all venues
  • Develop a robust budget and controls system to ensure cost effective delivery of the event
  • Develop effective working relationships with LOC colleagues, the stadium operator, LLDC, Local Authorities and other key internal and external
    stakeholders across all Championship venues.
  • Lead and manage L2017 CCW staff involvement as appropriate

The chosen contractor will have;

  • A successful track record of large-scale event CCW roles
  • Extensive knowledge of the Catering & Hospitality sector
  • Good knowledge of CCW-related legislation and best practice
  • Experience of working in a leading role at major events is essential
  • Knowledge of the venue is desirable
  • Strong communication, negotiation and procurement skills
  • Large scale budget management skills, with proven ability to deliver efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to work to key delivery timelines and budgets, in an evolving environment
