Carers Support Worker
JOB DESCRIPTION:
JOB TITLE:-Community Fundraising Co-ordinator
ACCOUNTABLE TO:-West Cumbria Carers - Chief Officer/Project & Funding
Development Manager
GRADE & SALARY:- £20,911 (pro rata)
HOURS:-18.5hrs per week
LOCATION:-West Cumbria
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
- To drive Community Fund raising in the organisation.
- To support the Management Team and Trustees to develop and update fundraising strategies and action plans.
- To work closely with Management and Trustee Teams to develop and manage donor relationships.
- To implement the organisation’s fundraising activities and events action plan.
- To develop and deliver a range of regular community based fundraising activities and events.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries to the organisation.
- To create and maintain a range of appropriate fundraising policies and procedures for the organisation and its fundraisers.
- To develop and deliver a range of activities and events to support and cultivate significant donors.
- To develop and deliver a range of fundraising activities and events in West Cumbria including: online lottery, street collections, legacy campaigns, etc
- To develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with volunteer fundraisers.
- To work alongside Project & Funding Development Manager and Data & Communication Support Worker to deliver appropriate marketing and promotion in relation to fundraising events (including website and social media)
- To maintain an accurate database of donors.
- To maintain accurate data and produce regular reports in relation to the organisation’s community fundraising
- To make and sustain links with local third sector organisations and local and regional networks of carers organisations to build knowledge of community fundraising.
- To work closely with all other team members within West Cumbria Carers
- To assist the Chief Officer to develop and implement organisational policies and procedures where relevant
- To attend any relevant training provided by West Cumbria Carers
- To provide support and information within the office
- To attend Carers events, meetings and Forums as required
- To carry out any additional relevant duties as required by this post
Person Specification: Community Fundraising Co-ordinator
ESSENTIAL
/ DESIRABLEQualifications/Education & Knowledge / Good general education.
Proven advanced knowledge of word, excel, access
Knowledge and experience of financial spreadsheets / Knowledge of local Voluntary organisations.
ECDL or equivalent
Experience of basic accounting procedures and terminology
Knowledge of issues relating to carers and/or people with health issues or disabilities
Experience / Direct experience of community fundraising
Direct experience of marketing and promotion
Direct experience of organising fundraising events
Direct experience of maintaining relationships with donors (corporate and individual)
Experience of initiating and putting into practice new projects
Direct experience of team management (staff and/or volunteers) / Direct experience of developing relationships with donors (corporate and individual)
Knowledge of website maintenance
Aptitudes and Skills / Proven experience of public speaking
Good self-management and organisational skills
Proven track record of achieving targets and meeting deadlines
