The Council of the City of Oregon met Tuesday May 26, 2015, 5:30 P.M. City Hall Council Chambers.

Commissioner Kurt Wilson started the pledge of allegiance.

Gerald Sepesy, a concerned citizen, gave petitions to the Mayor regarding the smell from the Water/Sewer. He said the neighborhood is feed up with the smell. We can’t even go outside it smells so bad. He was referred to the Water & Sewer Commissioner Jim Barnes.

Commissioner Jim Barnes moved to approve the May 12, 2015 minutes, Seconded by Commissioner Terry Schuster.

Mayor Ken Williams moved to approve the appointments of the following people to the Economic Development Commission:

Terry Schuster, Beth Henderson, Tom Mahoney, Erin Folk, Don Griffin, Hilary Hanna, Tom Golden, Aaron Sitze, Merlin Hagemann, and Chamber member to be announced at a later date, Seconded by Commissioner Terry Schuster.

Commissioner Thomas E. Izer moved to approve the Engineering Agreement with Willett Hofmann & Assoc. to reconstruct South 10th Street from Clay Street to Pines Road, Seconded by Commissioner Jim Barnes.

Commissioner Thomas E. Izer moved to award Motor Fuel Tax bid to AC Paving Striping, contingent upon no protest made during the eight day waiting period by IDOT, Seconded by Commissioner Kurt Wilson.

The Council discussed the request from Willett Hofmann & Assoc. regarding the Park District Project. No action was taken just discussion.

Commissioner Terry Schuster announced that the first Concert in Park will be June 9th and the band playing will be sponsored by the City of Oregon.

Mayor Ken Williams mentioned that the Council members need to take the on line training session for the open meetings act. He thanked First National Bank for the flags put out for Memorial Day and the VFW and American Legion for the ceremony at cemetery. Also thanked the Economic Development Committee members for volunteering their time.
