About PPA:

The Procedure Professionals Association was officially founded in 2005 to further procedure excellence in United States commercial nuclear stations, the Department of Energy nuclear sites, and the Canadian commercial nuclear stations. We currently have approximately 125 active members, many of which attend the annual Procedure Symposium.

Each commercial nuclear station typically has hundreds of administrative procedures/policies and thousands of work procedures. While technical accuracy has always been important, the recent focus has been on human factors, level of detail, and the challenges of a changing workforce. Also, while the current generation of nuclear power stations is still firmly stuck in the 20th century hard copy paradigm, the future will involve electronic procedures and man-machine interfaces.
