PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Project Manager

Willow Brook & Topley Supported Housing Schemes,

Coleraine

Council: Council of Social Witness – Disability Services Committee

Salary Scale: £29,359 - £32,672 per annum

Hours of Work: 39½ per week worked flexibly, including evening

and weekend working

Responsible to: Residential and Supported Services Manager

CRITERIA

1.  Qualifications and Knowledge:-

Essential

·  A professional social work qualification and registered on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) register, without condition; OR a first level registered nurse on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register; OR allied health professions registered with the Health Professions Council (arts therapists, dieticians, occupational therapist, orthoptists, orthotists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, prosthetists, radiographers or speech and language therapists)

AND HAVE a minimum of four years work experience in any health or social care setting for people with a disability (for example on a hospital ward, or in a day care or residential setting). At least two years of this experience must be in a relevant operational management capacity* in a health and social care setting

OR

·  A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults’ Management) Wales and Northern Ireland and registered, or be eligible for registration on appointment on the appropriate part of the NISCC register, without condition; AND a minimum of five years practice experience in any health and social care setting for people with learning difficulties which must include at least two years relevant experience in an operational management capacity * in a health and social care setting

* Relevant operational management experience may include a management post in health and social care team/service, staff management, service supervision, caseload management, care management, resource management, student supervision/mentoring, or project management

·  Knowledge of current legislation, statutory policy and best practice in the provision of supported living

·  Be computer literate for word processing/emails/ making RQIA/Supported People returns

·  Knowledge of appropriate training and qualifications for staff in this sector

·  Knowledge of Benefits System and Supporting People Initiative

2.  Relevant Experience:-

Essential

·  Experience of working within a residential/supported living setting

·  Previous experience of line managing staff

·  Experience of liaising with RQIA and Supporting People

Desirable

·  Experience of administration, in particular preparing staff rotas and time sheets

·  Experience of financial management and housekeeping responsibilities

·  Appropriate networking experience within the statutory and voluntary sectors

·  Experience of Quality Assurance Monitoring

·  Experience of using Spocc net system

·  Experience of the administration of medication

3.  Special Aptitudes:-

·  Willing to maintain appropriate professional registration

·  Willing to work within the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland

·  Willing to adhere to the NISCC Code of Practice for Social Care Workers

·  Eligible to meet the requirements of RQIA as the Registered Domiciliary Care Manager.

·  Available for flexible working and to work extra hours at short notice and to do sleeping in duty by arrangement

·  Access to a car for work purposes.
