9.49.1SYSTEM SUMMARY
OsceolaCounty has a type 4, E 9-1-1 system consisting of 3 Primary PSAPs as follows:
9.49.1.1OSCEOLA COUNTYSHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT PRIMARY PSAP
The OsceolaCounty has a Primary PSAP located at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department. All law enforcement calls are handled at this PSAP by direct dispatch. Calls requiring Fire/Rescue service are transferred or relayed to the Osceola County Fire/Rescue dispatch console located within the same complex.
9.49.1.2ST. CLOUD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRIMARY PSAP
The City of St. Cloud has a Primary PSAP located at the St. Cloud Police Department. All law enforcement and fire calls are handled by direct dispatch. Calls requiring rescue service are transferred or relayed to the Osceola County Emergency Medical Services Communications console located at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department PSAP.
9.49.1.3KISSIMMEE POLICE DEPARTMENT PRIMARY PSAP
The City of Kissimmee has a Primary PSAP located at the Kissimmee Police Department’s CentralCommunicationsCenter. All law enforcement, fire service and rescue are direct dispatched at this PSAP.
9.49.2SYSTEM MANAGEMENT
Each Primary PSAP is under the management of a PSAP manager designated by the agency. The entire OsceolaCounty system is administered and monitored by an Emergency Communications Coordinator. The Coordinator is responsible for standardization of policies and standards, for uniform system management. The coordinator also is responsible for providing the media with accurate and timely publicity releases and statements as well as creating, publishing, and distributing public information.
9.49.3INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS
The OsceolaCountyE9-1-1 system includes selective routing thereby eliminating central office overlaps with adjoining counties. Therefore, no specific interlocal agreement is required.
