Treasurers Report: Read and accepted by W Hibbard and L Buttery
Welfare Report:
Chris Spring reported that he had no news on Jack Summers but W Hibbard said that he was still not well but feeling a bit better but had been grounded.
It was stated that Stan Clayton was hoping to get a future meeting with his son and nurse (The Chairman confirmed again that her expenses would be picked up by the welfare fund).
The chairman also reported that Rev Yabbacombe had lost the site in one eye and had difficulty walking.
New Members: Mick Reams announced 1 new full member. Sgt Mark Swales of the RA
Correspondence:Cyril Key had received an email sent to the barracks from an Andrew Wilkinson, 59 Highcroft, Woolavington, Bridgewater, Somerset asking for any information on his grandfather, Jack Wilkinson of 7 Moorfield Road, Huddersfield, and in particular, any information on a story where he was reported to have been twice ‘mentioned in despatches’ supposedly for saving the naafi tea urn. Anyone with knowledge of this incident was asked to communicate directly with Jacks grandson.
Any Other Business:
Cyril Key thanked those members who had assisted with the poppy appeal and the hard work which had gone into it.
A short discussion was held on Cyril’s ideas for a commemorative wall and display board in Sobraon Park. It was decided to call a separate meeting at a later date to discuss the various options
He then went on to remind members of forthcoming events which were:
29 November, Birmingham Tattoo and Xmas Market. Coach departs 10am.
