5-6 (07-08) 7-8 (05-06) 9-10 (03-04) 11-12 (01-02)

13-14 (99-00) 15-16 (97-98) 17-18 (95-96)

·  Athletes born in 1994 are eligible if they do not turn 19 before 07/28/13

Individuals: Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States, and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships. See the USATF Rules for more information and exceptions. A competitor must compete in his/her age division only. There will be no “moving up or down” in any events, including relays. Competitors ages 7-12 divisions may compete in a maximum of three (3) events, including relays. Competitors ages 13-18 divisions may compete in a maximum of four (4) events, including relays. Combined events are not included in the event count. All athletes must be 2013 members of USATF in good standing.

Relay Teams: Only registered 2013 USATF member clubs may enter a relay team(s). All athletes representing the club must be affiliated with and members of that club as part of their USATF membership. Visit www.usatf.org and select “Products/Services” to become a member.

Entry Process:

Individuals Entries: $2.00 per Event

Relay Entries: No fee for relay team

Decathlon/Heptathlon: $15.00 per athlete

Triathlon/Pentathlon: $10.00 per athlete

On-Line Registration: Entries are to be completed via Coach-O all entries must be completed by Wednesday, June 19th – 10:00 p.m. Fees must be paid online with Master Card or VISA. No day of meet entries will be allowed.

Before the meet start date, please ensure that the membership chair has received (via mail or fax) a copy of the athlete’s Proof of Birth (copy of birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license, or U.S. government identification). See USATF Rule 300.1 (h) for further explanation.

Awards: USATF Junior Olympic medals will be awarded to the top three (3) individuals and the top

three (3) relay teams in each event of each age division.

Advancements: The top four (4) individuals and relay teams in each event of each age division will

advance to the USATF Region 10 Championships to be held on July 4th – 7th at Mesa Junior College

in Mesa, Arizona. Combined event athletes who place 1st thru 4th will quality for Regional’s.

The National Junior Olympics: The top 5 individuals and relay teams in each event of each age

division from Regionals will advance to the USATF National Championships July 22 thru 28 in

Greensboro, NC. The venue is North Carolina A&T. Combined event athletes who place 1st and 2nd

will qualify for Nationals. The 3rd place athlete may advance if the Qualifying Standard is met.

IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN: Implements will be weighed before competition at the finish line.

EVENT CHECK-IN: There will be separate check-in areas for Running and Field events. Athletes

must check in at these designated areas 20 minutes prior to the event’s scheduled starting time.

PACKET PICK-UP: Packets will be available for the coaches at the awards table starting Friday at

8:00 a.m. Remaining packets may be picked up Friday evening at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday morning at

7:00 a.m. at the track. Multi event athlete pick-up is prior to event.

COMPETITION BIB NUMBERS: All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers during

During competition and on the front on their jerseys only. If an athlete loses the bib number, a

replacement can be purchased for a fee of $10.00. Bib numbers will be distributed to athletes coaches

in their packets.

EVENT RESULTS: During competition, event results will be posted at the facility. In addition,

event results will be posted http://coachoregistration.com/calendar/meet/calendar.html, click on June

20-22 USATF Border Association Championship, the results tab. Results will be updated at the

completion of each day.

PROTESTS: There will be a $50.00 fee for all protests. Protests must be submitted to the Meet

Referee no later than 30 minutes after a result has been posted. The protests fee will be refunded if

the protest is upheld.

RULES – CONDUCT & FACILTY: All USATF Rules of Conduct must be followed.

SPECIAL CONCERNS: Coaches, parents, and athletes, in order to assist the safe completion of

this meet, following guidelines:

1.  Only ¼” or 5mm pyramid spike elements permitted for use on the Burges Track and runways. Athletes in violation of this rule will be disqualified from the Meet and will forfeit any qualifying position(s) for the Region 10 Championship, to include relays.

2.  Preliminary races (races 400 meters or less); only the Top 8 times from the heats will advance to finals. In the event that 8 or less athletes check-in for a prelim, only those who check-in will automatically advance to finals. If 8 or less athletes are entered in a scheduled prelim, the event will be contested as a final on Saturday, excluding the 200 hurdles and the 400 hurdles.

3.  Field Events will have three attempts with the top 8 advancing to Finals.

4.  Athletes check your heat & lane assignments on the Heat Sheets posted. Coaches report any omissions to the Award Table 30 minutes prior to the event. Only clerical errors will be corrected.

5.  No Coaches, Parents or Athletes are allowed on the infield unless they are working or competing in that specific event.

6.  Tarps, tents, canopies & umbrellas are permitted only in the top section of the stadiuim bleachers. Please do not block the view of others.

7.  15 years of age and above must use starting blocks in all individual events 400 meters and under. This also includes the first runner of the 4x100 and 4x400 & 400m hurdles and under.

8.  All relays team members must wear a top and shorts of the same color. Body suits must be of the same color and style.
