INVITATIONS AND MEMORIAL RESOLUTIONS

To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (S.7) to request the Department of Transportation to name that portion of Interstate Highway 26 from Exit 199 to Exit 203 in Berkeley County as the “Corporal Jeff Johnson Memorial Highway” in memory, etc., respectfully

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO NAME THAT PORTION OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 26 FROM EXIT 199 TO EXIT 203 IN BERKELEY COUNTY AS THE “CORPORAL JEFF JOHNSON MEMORIAL HIGHWAY” IN MEMORY OF STATE TROOPER, CORPORAL JEFF JOHNSON, WHO WAS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY WHILE SERVING HIS COUNTY AND STATE.

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request the South Carolina Department of Transportation to name that portion of Interstate Highway 26 from Exit 199 to Exit 203 in Berkeley County as the “Corporal Jeff Johnson Memorial Highway” in memory of State Trooper, Corporal Jeff Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty while serving his county and State, and to install appropriate markers or signs at places along the highway the department considers advisable containing the words “Corporal Jeff Johnson Memorial Highway”.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
