2. The Presence of a Spirit Makes a Person Alive
James 2:26 “As the body without the spirit is dead”
Ecclesiastes 12:7 “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.”
3. Our Spirit Represents Our Innermost Self
1st Corinthians 2:11 “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him?…”
4. Through Our Spirits We Experience Fellowship With God
2nd Timothy 4:22 “The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.”
Others: “The Lord be with your spirit.”
5. Our Spirit is Where God Leads and Searches
Proverbs 20:27 “The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.”

6. Our Spirit is Where We Experience Spiritual Joy

I Have a Spirit… So What?
1. We Have to Make a Conscious Choice For Our Spirits to Connect With God
Isaiah 26:9 “With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early…”
2. Connecting Our Spirits with God Requires Stillness and Careful Thought
Psalm 77:6 “I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search. (NAS95: “My spirit ponders”)
3. A Clean Life Results From a Spirit That Says in Tune with God
Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
4. Serving God is Not Merely External & Mechanical, But Involves Our Spirits
Romans 1:9 “For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son…”
5. Our Spirits Require Refreshing Fellowship
1st Corinthians 16:18 “For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.”
6. To Be “Blessable,” Our Spirits Have to Be Humble
