7. NEW MOU – SIGNED & ACTIVITIES UNDER OLD MOU
Dear Ladies and gentleman!, I am proud to say that we have initiated industry-institute interaction and collaboration with several firms by signing MoU.
As we signed MoU with
· Infosys - To have Campus Connect Agreement
· Microsoft - To establish Microsoft innovation centre
· National Instruments - To establish research centre
This year we have signed New MoU with
· TCS iON – For conducting online Bank exams
· SATVAT – For conducting online TNPSC exams
for the effective usage of our lab equipments.
7.1 Infosys - Campus Connect Agreement & Activities
MoU has been renewed with Infosys, at Infosys Development Centre, Bangalore on 23.12.13. After that, the Campus Connect programs for the next academic year have been clearly discussed in “Principals’ meet” at Infosys Development Centre, Chennai on 24.02.2014.
- Prof. G. Prabu & Prof. N. Kalpana had attended a Technical Deep Dive FEP at Infosys Chennai DC.
- Prof. J. Emmanual Robin, Prof. R. Karthik & Prof. P. Sathish Raja had attended a Technical Deep Dive FEP at Kamaraj College of Engineering, Madurai.
- Prof. S.Saraswathi & Prof. M. Karthikeyan had attended a Software Testing Deep Dive FEP at St. Joseph’s College, Chennai.
- Prof. V. Thamil Selvi & Prof. M. Sundar had attended a Soft Skill Deep Dive FEP at Infosys Chennai DC.
- Prof. M. Lavanya, Prof. M. Shanmugapriya & Prof. G. Sudha has attended a Soft Skill Deep Dive FEP at KLNCE, Madurai.
- Prof. V. Thamil Selvi, Prof. M. Lavanya and Prof. Premanand has attended a Soft Skill Deep Dive FEP at KLNCE, Madurai.
- Prof. A. John Felix Prakash & Prof. R. Punidha have attended a 5 days FEP at SRR Engineering college, Padur, Kelambakam, Chennai.
- Dr. N. Kannan, Principal & Dr. S. A. Sahaaya Arul Mary, SPoC had attended the Principal’s meet held at Chennai DC. To review the actions taken & implemented for the year 2012. JCET took place in top 10 colleges & was appreciated and it has reached the level of Member College.
- A webinar Inspire faculty nomination was conducted by Infosys on 9th Feb 2013.
30 Faculty are nominated & were awarded with Bronze, Silver & Gold levels.
The above mentioned faculty members conducted PEP & enabled nearly 48 of their Peers.
Apart from faculty, students also actively participated in the various events conducted by Infosys like
· Android quiz in which our college bagged 5th place Mobile Security,
· Bricks and Clicks – The Business Model,
· Aspirations 2020,
· Webinar based quiz on Alan Turing - Centenary year Celebration,
· Campus connects webinar series on BOTNETS: A Stealthy Online Threat.
· Infosys spark programme for first year students under “50 in 24” programme.
The Train The Trainee (TTT) programme by Infosys was organized in our campus from 29th – 31st May, 2013.
Participants from various engineering colleges in and around Tamilnadu participated in the course and trained themselves in “Web Application Development on ASP.NET”. Sessions were handled by Mr. Roy Antony Arnold and Ms. Kalpana Balaraman
7.2 Microsoft - Innovation Centre - Activities
MoU has been signed between JCET and Microsoft for the establishment of MIC (Microsoft Innovation Center) at our campus. Our Chairman exchanged the MoU with Mr. Joseph Landes, Country Head – Microsoft at GRT Blue Radission, Chennai. 75 members both faculty & students attended the live exchange of MoU and 250 members attended the same from JCET through video conferencing. Microsoft Innovation Center is brought out to strengthen the Engineering education propelled by research. This centre aims at taking up academics to industry by mutual exchange of Technology and other resources. This enables student to work on various latest projects & accelerate their skills.
55 (Faculty -18 & Students -37) members were participated in the 18 hours “Microsoft Windows AppFest Marathon – Gunnies Record” held at Trade Centre, Bangalore. Totally 106 applications have been developed & uploaded in the windows Apps store & the URL have been obtained. 13 significant applications are cleared AEL (Application Excellence Lab) on the spot.
11 students (PG -3&UG- 8) attended “Microsoft Pool Campus -2012” interview, conducted at SJB Institute of Technology, Bangalore. 1 of our student Mr. Elumalai cleared first level.
Microsoft Student Partner (MSP)
Microsoft Student Partners are social, friendly and approachable students who like to meet new people. MSPs are the game changers of the future. Ms. S. Banupriya, Ms. P. Manjula, Ms. P. Illaya Nila of III MCA got selected as MSPs based on their visions to create innovative solutions that that address the world's toughest challenges. These MSPs think and act boldly. These MSPs are about to conduct 10 hours windows AppFest at our campus that includes students from other colleges.
MTA Exam
MTA exams were conducted in our campus by Microsoft in which nearly 333 students(host college + other colleges) participated and awaiting for certification.
Innovation Centre
Microsoft Innovation Centre at our campus is under process and it will inaugurate in the month of 2013.
MIC Summit
Dr. N. Kannan, Principal have attended the MIC Summit at Bangalore on 18th March, 2013.
7.3 National Instruments – Research Centre
An MoU has been with National Instruments Research Centre to establish a Research Centre in collaboration with NI in our College Campus to taste the benefits like to get NI project proposals, to get an NI collaboration certificate and to make use of virtual Instruments. MSME (Micro Small & Medium Enterprises) which provides a comprehensive range of services to the small scale industrial sector in Tamil Nadu in terms of technical assistance, Economic information services, provision of workshop facilities, training and other general consultancy services.
7.4 TCS – ION
MoU Signed between JCET and TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) through this JCET has become a stakeholder to provide the assessment ready nodes in the business of providing computer based assessments. This MoU is helpful to the institution in the following aspects like Generating revenue to the college by providing the computer lab infrastructure to TCS without affecting the academic system. College - corporate interactions - Promoting the College in the month of Dec’12 & Jan’13, various bank exams have been conducted on 7 different days in the computer centre.
7.5 TNPSC
This MoU is helpful to the institution in the following aspects like generating revenue to the college by providing the computer lab infrastructure to Tamilnadu Government for conducting online exams without affecting the academic system.
