World’s Finest Automotive Bra Installation Instructions: C6 Corvette Shift Boot (6-speed manual transmission)

Tools required: small flat blade pocket screw driver, side cutter pliers, and super glue

Parts included: none

Pre Installation

1)  Carefully read and follow instructions to ensure optimal performance

2)  Find a comfortable, well-lighted place to work.

3)  Find/create a safe place to temporarily stow each component you remove.

4)  Use a plastic bag or other tray to temporarily stow the fasteners you remove.

5)  Take your time.

SL Shift Boot Installation

1)  Remove the shift knob.

a)  Pull down gently on the boot, just under the shift knob, to access the set-screw.

b)  Use a T20 Torx bit to remove the set screw.

c)  Pull up and remove the shift knob.

2)  Remove the shift boot.

a)  NOTE: The bottom of the shift boot is attached to a plastic collar which is pressed down into the console.

b)  Use your fingers press the bottom edge of the shift boot inward, towards the shifter to flex the soft plastic collar inwards, to release the tabs around the perimeter of the collar.

c)  Pull-up the bottom edge of the shift boot (and collar) and remove the shift boot & collar from the car.

3)  Remove the stock shift boot from the plastic collar.

a)  Notice the location of the seam on the plastic collar.

b)  Mark the location of the seam on the collar with the grease pencil.

c)  Use the small pocket screw driver and/or the side cutters to remove the staples holding the stock shift boot onto the plastic collar.

d)  Separate the stock shift boot from the collar.

4)  Install the new SpeedLingerie Shift Boot.

a)  Slip the new SpeedLingerie shift boot onto the plastic collar, and oriented as the stock boot was attached.

b)  NOTE: You may use super glue to attach the SpeedLingerie Shift Boot to the plastic collar.

c)  Slip the Shift Boot and plastic collar over the shaft.

d)  Press the plastic collar back into the console.

e)  Use your fingers to press the bottom edge of the Shift Boot outward, re-attaching the tabs.

f)  Shape and mold the boot and collar into place as needed.

5)  Re-install the shift knob

a)  Slip the shift knob back onto the shaft.

b)  Re-install the T20 Torx screw.

c)  Pull up on the shift boot slightly and shape as needed.

Final Adjustment

1)  For full effect of SpeedLingerie design and glove-like fit, allow 72 hours for material(s) to relax and conform.

2)  Park in a warm sunny spot for a few days with the SpeedLingerie installed, to help the process.

Care & Maintenance

1)  For best results, be sure that vehicle surfaces are clean and dry before installing SpeedLingerie.

2)  Clean outer vinyl surfaces of SpeedLingerie with a high quality conditioner during routine car maintenance.
