Principal’s Message
October/November 2016
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
It is hard to believe that we are close to wrapping up the first quarter of the school year. Our teachers and students have been working hard. We are currently assessing their learning by administering our first round of Benchmark assessment. It is important that students are at school each day, on time, so we can ensure they take part in these assessment. This valuable data is used to determine the appropriate next steps in classroom instruction and what interventions teachers need to put in place to support student learning.
Next week, October 24-28, 2016 we will be celebrating our 1st Bully Prevention Awareness Spirit Week. We look forward to supporting our students and staff as they work together to address the social and emotional needs of all of our students.
We need your help to make sure we are providing a safe and orderly environment during arrival and dismissal times. Please be sure you are following the school procedures when dropping of and/or picking up your student(s). Students should not be walking through the parking lot to get to parent’s cars. If you choose to park in the parking lot, please escort your student(s) using the crosswalk.

Our Parkside website has faculty contact information parksidems.schools.pwcs.edu. Our teachers are a great resource and will be happy to help you. Please know that I am available to meet with you in person, via email or talk to you over the telephone to discuss any concerns you may have.
