Dear guests,

Dear colleagues,

Autumn is coming and, as it happens every other year, we have the opportunity to meet – representatives of the technical-economical community from research institutes and universities, specialists from the economic field, central and local authorities for environmental quality monitoring and settlement, representatives of water-sewerage operators, consultancy companies, etc., in order to debate together issues that are always actual, various and complex regarding pollution: prevention, control and assessment, mitigation and abatement.

It is a special occasion to present the original, thematic and practical results obtained in the field by the Romanian research, to compare them to the results of our colleagues from abroad who are confronted with the same issues and, in general, with the environmental research tendencies at European and world level.

The great number of papers registered in Symposium’s Programme proves that the research in the environmental field is active, concerned to find out solutions for innovation for the Romanian economy, in tight correlation with environmental requirements. The generous purpose of environmental researchers and specialists’ focus is to ensure a sustainable development for a healthier environment, for us and for the next generations, as well.

It is a time when the research in the environmental field must support operatively and competently the implementation of transposed environmental legislation.

May we gladly welcome you again, with good whishes of health and success. We will meet each other, as young as before, in thought and feeling, positively wiser and certainly full of hopes in young researchers and in the future of Romanian research.

The space offered with generosity by the RomanianAcademy, Academy’s Library, guarantees a very proper place for the proceedings of our Symposium.

Apart of the enthusiasm and interest of the scientific community and specialists, the Symposium was possible due to the kind and munificent aid from the National Authority for Scientific Research – Commission of Scientific and Exhibition Events, as well as the generous assistance of our sponsors, to whom we forward our special thanks.

We thank and pray God for support.

We wish success to the Symposium’s works and wish you

Welcome !

Organizing Committee,

Margareta Nicolau
