Post – Attendance Manager

Grade – Grade 5 (SCP 27 – 32)

Hours – 37 hours x 41 weeks

Reporting to – Assistant Principal (Deep Support)

JOB PURPOSE

To support children whose education is at risk Outwood Academy City.

To help families to improve their children’s access to learning and enable all children and young people to maximise their educational opportunities, especially those vulnerable groups that may need additional support.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

·  To assist in meeting agreed targets and outcomes in the Academy;

·  To identify those children in need of support by reason of their absence from school;

·  To assist the Academy to safeguard students through joint work with partner agencies;

·  To assist the assistant principal to assess need, plan interventions and implement effective action;

·  To complete referrals to the Sheffield Local Authority Family Service

·  Assisting parents to ensure that all students on roll who are not accessing mainstream education are receiving an appropriate programme of education;

·  To prepare and maintain appropriate case notes and prepare documentation for legal action.

·  To complete and maintain case studies.

·  To prepare weekly/half termly/termly/annual data reports.

·  To line manage Attendance Officer and Attendance Administrator.

·  To lead meetings with parents, attend home visits, prepare letters.

·  To lead half termly attendance panels

·  Attend RAG achievement meetings to provide feedback and intervention strategies for key students.

·  To issue detentions to students who arrive late to the academy.

·  To implement systems of praise/recognition for good attendance.

·  Upload the Academy’s weekly attendance information to the Local Authority via the secure access website

·  To comply with the Academy’s Child Safeguarding Procedures, including regular liaison with the Academy’s Designated Child Safeguarding Person over any safeguarding issues or concerns. To comply with the Academy policies and procedures at all times.
