CAPC Minutes
November 1, 2005

1.Minutes from October 1st, 2005 were approved with no changes/corrections. These can be viewed at
2. Borchelt notified Councilthat the task force to clarify how to submit items for approval will be headed up by Joan Bass. Bass stated the first meeting would be after CAPC meeting on Nov. 1.
3.Eaves explained the need to phase out the Drafting & Design and AAS programs. A motion was made by Kemp and seconded by Jeff to recommend the action to Faculty Council and it was approved.Borchelt will take this forward to the next Faculty Council meeting. For details go to
4. Moore explained need to change the course requirements for certificate and AAS programs in the School of Technology. After discussion a motion was made by Zeller seconded by Johnson and approved by Council to change the requirements as proposed. For details go to
- Giovannitti explained the changes in course descriptions for MATH 0097 and 0099. After clarification and discussion a motion was made by Bass seconded by Sanner and approved by Council. For details go to
- Barnett explained the changes to CMS 3901 & CMS 3720. A motion was made by Mooney seconded by Johnson, and approved by CAPC as amended in CAPC meeting. For details go to:
Borchelt polled the members to see if there was any objection to waiving the second reading. There were no objections. All changes are approved as first readings. All course changes require a Banner Action form that can be found on the Provost site.
- Barnett explained the need for the new courses listed below. After discussion and modifications a motion was made to approve the courses to allow for scheduling in the Spring.
- MUSC 4711 – Organ Pedagogy – Motion to approve was made by Zeller, seconded by Johnson, approved by Council. For details go to

Borchelt polled the members to see if there was any objection to waiving the second readings of all new course proposals listed above, there were no objections.
The proposals for CMS 3902 and 3903 were moved to next meeting scheduled for Nov. 15.
