Chapter1. The theory of the channel and collaterals, meridians

【objectives】

1.  To be familiar with the origin, shape and progress of the meridians.

2.  To master the main content of the meridians (definition, component, names of the forteen meridians, exterior-interior relationship and function) and the distributing law of the twelve channels.

Chapter2. The basic knowledge of Acupuncture and moxibustion

【objectives】

1. To be familiar with the classification of the needle, the function of the moxibustion , the indication and the contraindication of the moxibustion, and other treatment about acupuncture and moxibustion.

2.  To master the preparation prior to acupuncture treatment. Needling methods, management of possible accidents, definition and classification of moxibustion.

【main contents of teaching】

1.  Acupuncture techniques

Classification of the needle

Preparation prior to acupuncture. (selection of the patients postures and steirilization)

Needling methods (four insertions, angle and depth of insertions, manipulation and arrival of Qi, retaining and withdrawing the needle)

Management of possible accidents (emphasize fainting)

2.  Moxibustion

Definition of the moxibustion

Classification of the moxibustion (moxa sticks, moxa cone, cupping)

Function of the moxibustion

Indication and contraindication of the moxibustion

3.  other treatments about acupuncture and moxibustion (ear acupuncture therapy, scalp acupuncture, electrotherapy, magnetotherapy and point injection)

Chapter3. Points

【objectives】

1. To be familiar with the general introduction of the points, oriertition channel tropism and indication of the thirty points which are often used.

2. To know about the application of extraordinary points and ear points

【main contents of teaching】

1.  the general introduction of the points (definition, classification, location, function)

orientation (bone measurement, anatomy character, finger-length measurement)

function (short and long distance and special treatment function)

Chapter4. Acupuncture treatment

【objectives】

1. To be familiar with the concept of acupuncture prescription and the acupuncture treatment about the commonly seen diseases in clinic.

2. To know about the treatment of some clinical diseases and the clinical application of acupuncture in common sports injuries, analgesia and anesthesia and so on.

combination of the Back-shu points and the Front-mu points

combination of the short and long distant points

2. Acupuncture treatment of clinical diseases:facial paralysis, retention of urine, wind stroke,common cold, wind stroke, and their acupuncture prescription

3. Clinical application of acupuncture in common sports injuries, analgesia and anesthesia ,obesity,insomnia, relieving pain(Headache, Stomachache, Low back pain, Keen osteoarthritis) ,and their acupuncture prescription

4. Acupuncture treatment of clinical diseases:Intestinal Obstruction,Abdominal Distension,Vomiting,Hiccup treated by Acupuncture, and their acupuncture prescription
