CALL TO ORDER

Mr. Good called the meeting to order at 9:10a.m.

REVIEW OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Sharp to approve the April 2, 2008 meeting minutes as presented. The motion was unanimously carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Correspondence

Ms. Letterman stated that the Board officewas waiting for the new Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB) and new exam dates in orderto inform all pendingexam candidates of the change to the testing service and theexam update. When contacted on the status, Prometric stated that candidates were scheduled to test on Saturday, May 3 and that the State Board should have informed them that the exam had been updated to the 2005 NEC.Since the Division was unaware of the scheduled test,and who was testing there were concerns that the candidates would not have the correct exam materials and requested that the exam be rescheduled. As soon as the testing service provides the new test dates all exam candidate will be notified.

Re-Review of Applications

A motion was made by Mr. Marks, seconded by Mr., Sharp to approve the application of Eduardo Sgromo. The motion was unanimously carried.

Propose to Deny Hearing

Mr. Murray was notified by regular and certified mail that the Board had proposed to deny his limited exam application due to lack of proof of experience. He requested a hearing and was notified of the hearing date however, he was not in attendance.

A motion was made by Mr. Marks seconded by Mr. Anderson to deny his application. The motion was unanimously carried.

Verbatim testimony was taken by the court reporter.

The hearing was closed.

NEW BUSINESS

Review of Reciprocity Applications

A motion was made by Mr.Anderson seconded by Mr.Stokes to approve the applications ofWilliam Metzger, Robert Croce, Timothy Campbell, Alan Carlton, and Patrick Walsh. The motion was unanimously carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Stokes to table the application of David Peek, Thomas Doyle, Jason Leshem and Swede Granger pending verification of 5 years of experience after licensure. The motion was unanimously carried.

Review of Examination Applications

A motion was made by Mr. Sharp seconded by Mr. Marks to approve the applications of Michael Harmon, Karl Williams, Joseph Edward, Joseph Stewart, Shawn Landis, and Michael Kapper The motion was unanimously carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Sharp, seconded by Mr. Marks to table the application of Douglas Manmiller pending a copy of his job description while employed at GMI. The motion was unanimously carried.

A motion was made by Mr.Sharp seconded by Mr. Marks to propose to deny the application of Timothy Phillips due to his criminal record. The motion was unanimously carried.

Review of Continuing Education

OTHER BUSINESS BEFORE THE BOARD

The Board asked for the status in determining whether the State of Maryland is a substantially or not substantially similar state and discussed Maryland’s state and county exam process. Mr.Spizzirri shared the correspondence he submitted to the Director of the Maryland State Electrical Board on behalf of the Division. The Board would like to continue this discussion at the June meeting.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Rob Smith inquired as to the status of the gas pipe issue discussed at the previous meeting and was informed that it has been added to the Board’s strategic plan.

NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING

The next scheduled meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Conference Room A, second floor of the Cannon Bldg. 861 Silver Lake Blvd. Dover DE.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Mr.Sharpseconded by Mr. Marksto adjourn. The motion was unanimously carried. The meeting was adjourned 10:15a.m.
