SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE

REPUBLIC OF MOZAMBIQUE
FAMILY FARMING INCOME ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
EXTENSION OF THE BREEDER FARM IN NAMAACHA
(ICB No. 048/INC-ENH/MOZ/06)
1.  This Specific Procurement Notice follows the General Procurement Notice for this project which appeared in Development Business Issue dated 25 January 2001
2.  The Government of Mozambique has received a loan from the African Development Fund in the amount of UA 12,460,000.00 towards the cost of Family Farming Income Enhancement Project, and intends to apply part of the funds of the loan to cover eligible payments under the contract(s) for the Extension of a Breeder Farm in Namaacha. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible member countries as defined in the ADB’s Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Goods and Works.
3.  The União Geral das Cooperativas Agro-Pecuarias de Maputo now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for any or all of the following lots:

4.  Complete sets of bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the address below from

upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 13,500MTn per set of an indivisible complete set of bid documents for all lots, or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency, payable at the same address, for each set. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the same address.
5.  The instructions to bidders and general conditions of contract contained in the bidding documents comply with the Bank’s Standard Bidding Documents for the Procurement of Goods and Works.
6.  Bids shall be valid for a bid period of 90 days after Bid Opening and must be accompanied by the security as specified above in local currency or its equivalent in freely convertible currency and be delivered to the União Geral das Cooperativas Agro-Pecuárias de Maputo on or before 10.00 Hours local time on 3 April 2007. The bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at same address on (same date as deliver) at 10.30 Hours local time.
7.  Qualified domestic or regional bidders may be eligible to receive a margin of preference in bid evaluation as specified in Section II, Instructions to Bidders, of the bidding documents.
