WGANC TOURNAMENT GREETING

Ascertain how long it will take the player with the farthest away hole to get there and time your announcements to allow enough time. Begin at least 20 minutes before the start time.

The greeting on the first day should be written in your own words. The following items should be covered in your announcements.

Introduce yourself.

Explain how the players will be directed to their starting holes and tell them to wait until the official start time to tee off. Have fun and enjoy a great round of golf!

Introduce your Rules Officials and turn the mike over to the Lead Rules Official for rules announcements. Make sure that the Rules Officials covers the following items and if missing, announce after she gets done.

  • Lead Rules introduces Rules Officials at event and give their location.
  • Remind Players of the following: Count Clubs Mark Ball Exchange Scorecard
  • Play 3-3 If in doubt (back of the scorecard) if you cannot find a rules official and be sure to report this to the scoring table.

Welcome players to the ______annual WGANC ______tournament.

Announce any lost and founds.

  1. Thank you to the club for hosting the Tournament

TOURNAMENT GREETING

SECOND DAY

Ascertain how long it will take the player with the farthest away hole to get there and time your announcements to allow enough time. Begin at least 20 minutes before the start time.

If a flip/flop, ask the Lead Rules Official if she would like to make any special announcements regarding changes in Course Conditions.

If this is a flip/flop,introduce yourself and your Rules Officials. Remind players about the announcements made on the previous day, but do not repeat them except for the ones regarding the Scoring Table(if not being made by the Lead Rules Official) and how they will be directed to their starting holes.

Do not use this time to thank individuals. The players are anxious to get out and play and you will lose their attention if you talk too long.

It is preferable to be visible to the players during the announcements. You may use a portable microphone, if it is powerful enough to be heard by all the players. A bullhorn is not usually that powerful. If you need to use the Pro Shop microphone, do so. Have the remaining Directors and Rules Officials outside with the players.

After the round of golf, if one day at this course, present the Certificate of Appreciation to the Club Manager, or if the Manager is not available, present it to the Head Golf Professional.
