DISCNW YOUTH LEAGUES WEBSITE TUTORIAL

Using the DiscNW Website to Register Teams for Leagues, Add Coaches, and Report Game and Spirit Scores

CREATING A NEW USER LOGIN FOR THE DISCNW WEBSITE

In order to register for any DiscNW events, you first must have a User Login for the DiscNW website. If you already have a User Login for the website, you may skip to the REGISTERING YOUR TEAM FOR A LEAGUE section.

1.  Go to www.discnw.org

2.  In the upper right corner, under the picture, you should see a box that says “Please log in”. At the bottom of the box, it says “. . .or Register.” Click on “or Register.”

3.  Fill out the form.

4.  The website prompts you to create a player profile (see below). Creating your player profile involves entering basic information about yourself, including name, age, height, gender, position played, and skill/experience level. This is not a requirement for registering your team for the league, so you can skip this step if you want.

REGISTERING YOUR TEAM FOR A LEAGUE

Once you have created a User Login for the DiscNW website, you may register yourself or your team for any DiscNW event. Here are the instructions for registering a new team for a league.

1.  Go to the league webpage by clicking on the name of the league in the DiscNW Events sidebar at www.discnw.org

2.  At your league webpage, click on “Register Now.” If you are not currently logged in to the DiscNW website, you will be prompted to log in. Use the username and password you chose when you created your User Login (see CREATING A USER LOGIN FOR THE DISCNW WEBSITE above).

3.  If you have already created a player profile (step 4 of CREATING A USER LOGIN FOR THE DISCNW WEBSITE above), you will be directed straight to the registration page; you can skip to step 4.

If you have not created a player profile, you will see something like the following text:

Click on the option to “register as the coach of a new team.” This will bring you to the following page:

Fill out the information, and click on “Update Team Info” at the bottom. Clicking on this button will not take you anywhere new, but after you click on it, you will see a link at the top that says “Continue with Registration.” Click on that link.

4.  Fill out the required information on the registration form. Notice that the registration form gives you an option to “Create a New Team to Register.” Thus, you can register multiple teams for the league under your name.

5.  After you fill out the form and click on “Register” at the bottom of the page, you will be directed to a page which prompts you to pay. If there is no cost for the event, you will see that indicated in bold on the page (see yellow arrow below). If you have registered multiple teams (i.e., repeated steps 4-5 for each team that you want to register), there will be a list at the bottom of the page of all of the teams you have registered (see white arrow below). You can register more teams on this page as well (if you scroll down to the text underneath “New Team Registration”—see pink arrow below).

6.  Once you have registered all of your teams, you can navigate away from this page. The page is a dead end, so you’ll have to type a new link in your web browser or click on any of the links at the top of the page to go to a different page on the DiscNW website.

ADDING COACHES TO YOUR TEAM

It is very important that all of the coaches for your team(s) are listed as coaches on the team page. Being listed as a coach on the team page enables you to receive league emails and allows you to report scores for your team.

1.  Go to the league webpage by clicking on the name of the event in the DiscNW Events sidebar at www.discnw.org

2.  Click on “Standings” at the top of the page.

This will redirect you to a new page that lists all of the teams and their standings in the league.

3.  Click on your team name. This takes you to your team page.

4.  At the top of the team page (see below), click on “Edit Team Info.”

5.  This brings you to a page you’ve seen before, when you created a new team for the league. However, you’ll notice the page is slightly different now because there is an empty box labeled “Add Coach.”

6.  In order to add a coach to your team, the coach you are adding must have a User Login at DiscNW (see the first section, CREATING A USER LOGIN FOR THE DISCNW WEBSITE). You will need to know the coach’s DiscNW username in order to add him/her as a coach. Enter the coach’s username in the box, and click on “Update Team Info.” This should refresh the page, and the new coach should be listed.

7.  When you are done adding coaches, click on “Return to Team Page” at the top of the page.

REPORTING GAME AND SPIRIT SCORES

1.  Go to your team page (see steps 1-3 above, in the ADDING COACHES TO YOUR TEAM section). Your team page looks like this:

2.  Click on the word “unreported” next to the game for which you would like to report scores. This will direct you to the following page. Click on “Report Score” at the top.

3.  This brings you to the following page. Fill in your game scores in boxes in the “Score” column. To report your spirit scores, click on the drop-down boxes in the “Spirit” column. If you forgot the spirit scale, click on the blue question mark (see yellow arrow below), and a pop-up description of the scale will appear to remind you.

4.  When you are done filling in game scores for both teams and a spirit score for your opponent, click on the “Report Scores” box (see pink arrow above). This will save your scores and will take you to the page in step 2 above. You can click on the League name to return to the main league webpage, you can return to your team page by clicking on your team name, or you can navigate somewhere else by typing a new web address into your web browser.
