Platform Support Engineer – Windows 2006-2013

Managed Windows Servers andan EMC SAN infrastructurein support of the Beta System business unit. Responsibilities included server rollout, monitoring, server maintenance, software and hardware upgrades, application support, troubleshooting,and 24/7 on call support.

  • Maintained 600+ servers providing services to 600+ on-sight and international employees, and customers worldwide.
  • Managed customer-facing environment that processed over forty-five million transactions a day.
  • Developed and implemented a RD Gateway/RemoteApp infrastructure proposal for maintaining and supporting servers located in a fire walled environment.
  • Lead platform support engineer on a server refresh project whichincluded 6 Hyper-V servers, with over 40 guests, and multiple SQL servers. This eliminated bottlenecks in both hardware and OS that was causing slowness for customers.
  • Implemented SCOM environment for monitoring 14 production Hyper-V hosts and related virtualized guests.
  • Implemented server framework for a Sharepoint environment supporting both the business unit and Thomson Reuters as a whole.
  • Maintained certificate authority and related certificates for production systems conforming to industry standards and customer OLA.
  • Developed code to import logs from multiple production systems into a SQL database allowing debug logs to be searched and categorized.
