Apple Picking Field Trip 2015

To Parlee Farm in Tyngsboro

Our school field trips are arranged for the enjoyment and enrichment of the children and to give them a common experience with their classmates. With this experience the children build trust, language skills, and social skills. It is also the basis for many forms of curriculum and art expression.

When: Tuesday, September 22nd – 2 day & 5day classes

Wednesday, September 23rd – 3 day classes

Time: Leaving ABC at no later than 9:10 am. Children should arrive at school by 8:50.

Transportation: Christianson School bus to the farm and back to school.

What: We will have a hay ride through the orchard. Children and parents who have been paid for, will be able to pick apples from the trees to take home. We will experience the fall season with our new school friends and see some animals and have fun climbing in a hay maze! We will have a small snack at the farm which will be provided by ABC. We ask that chaperones do not go into the store and do not purchase anything.

Cost: $8.00 transportation fee per child – check or cash sent to school with the permission form. The cost for children to pick apples was included in your registration fee. $14.00 total if you are chaperoning and would like to pick apples as well.

Dress: Pants, sweatshirts or jackets, sneakers or closed toe shoes. Dress for the

projected weather of the day.

Rain?? Rain date will be decided on if cancellation is necessary. If the trip is cancelled we will have a regular school day.

RULES:

1. Everyone stays together.

2. Chaperones can only take their own child to the bathroom. If you have been left in charge of another child in the class, an ABC staff member must take them to the restroom (even if it is a close friend, sorry it’s the law)

3. Please, please, please, no shopping in the store during the field trip! We ask that you kindly do not make any purchases on the field trip day.

4. If you are driving to the farm to chaperone, we prefer that you do not take your child from the farm. We prefer that they ride the bus back and you pick them up from the school, but if you insist then we would like you to inform both the classroom teacher and the director/assistant director as well.

5. Be safe and have FUN!

Please read and fill out the permission form/chaperone form and return it to school with your child no later than September 11th .
