8th Grade Promotion Information

Please note the following information for eligible students and their parentsconcerning our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony.

DATE:Friday, May 24, 2013

TIME:9:00 a.m. (Doors are open to the public/parents at 8:30 a.m.)

LOCATION:SequoiaMiddle School MPR/GYM

PARKING:Parking is limited. Please observe NO PARKING city posted street signs.

DRESS CODE:Girls – Pants, blouses, skirts, and dresses are all acceptable.

Dress shoes, tennis shoes, and sandals with straps are

also permitted.

THE DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Dress code check will take place at 8:45 a.m. the day of

the promotion ceremony. Students dressed inappropriately

will not be allowed to participate. This is a special day for

your daughter. Let’s not ruin it for her sake. Please follow the

guidelines listed on back to avoid any conflict.

Boys – Pants, shirts, and shoes. Button up shirts look nice, but are

not required. Ties are optional.

THE DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

promotion ceremony. This is a special day for

your son. Let’s not ruin it for his sake. Please follow the

guidelines listed on back to avoid any conflict.

CEREMONY:Tickets are not being issued for this event. We are promoting

approximately 240 students on stage. Our MPR/GYM can support

an audience of approximately 1,200. Please observe a guideline

of no more than five guests per student.

TRIP:Students should wear comfortable clothing. For the “Flow Ride”, McDermont Field House requires that students bring swimwear. Please help your child chose an appropriate swimsuit.Students will return at 2:30pm and need to be picked up promptly.

8th grade students who do not plan on going on the trip may leavecampus following the promotion ceremony.
