Founded in 1983, Jimmy John Liautaud pioneered his delivery model out of a tiny shop in Charleston, IL and his vision of perfect bread, systems in place, spectacular employees and leaders who lead remains firmly in place today.

The HR Director reports directly to the President and leads a team of three who administer the HR function for 1800 employees in our restaurant company and 400 employees in our operations company. The HR Director is part of our leadership team and attends monthly operations meetings.

Focus Areas:

1. Field Expert

(minimum 3 years of experience handling employment law matters required)

*research and maintain a working knowledge of employment laws in all 50 states

*communicate effectively with outside labor attorneys and in-house general counsel

*follow a structured process to recommend and implement policy changes

*educate and effectively coach all employees on employment laws and company practices

*PHR or SPHR certification required (California designation preferred)

2. Leadership

(minimum 1 year of experience managing people required, 1 year recruiting experience preferred)

*recruit, hire, develop and lead the HR team to become efficient and effective leaders

*oversee recruiting and sourcing efforts for our new centralized recruiting program

*conduct periodic gap analyses to review opportunities for the HR department to support operational

growth

*learn all tasks required for each HR function and provide backup, training and support for all areas

including, but not limited to:

FMLA, Internal Wage/Hour Compliance Audits, ADA, Health & Welfare Plan Administration, Retirement Plan Administration, Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, In-House Drug Testing Program, New Hire Orientation, Recruiting, Kronos Workforce Central Administration, Content Central Document Management System Administration, EEO-1 Reporting, Succession Planning, Paid Time Off Administration, HR Training and the exhausting list of California state laws and regulations

3. Advising

(minimum 3 years of experience with employee relations)

* advise members of the leadership team in employment matters

*conduct investigations and recommend corrective action in compliance with state and federal laws

4. HRIS

(experience preferred, not required)

*enter confidential payroll information into our Kronos Workforce Central in-house hosted application

*print confidential on-demand and bonus checks from the Kronos application

*provide full admin support of the Kronos application
