NORTH WEST AIR AMBULANCE
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Regional Community Fundraiser
Area: Manchester and East Lancashire (Field- Based)
Department: Fundraising
Section: Community Fundraising
Responsible to: Corporate Development Manager
THE CHARITY
North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) is a charity that provides ‘care from the air’.
Every day of the year the air ambulance charity operates helicopters, medically equipped and carrying specially trained paramedics, to attend to people with life-threatening injuries or illnesses.
We can access all areas and the maximum flying time to the nearest hospital in the region is ten minutes. It is this speed and accessibility that is crucial in making a difference to the patient’s chances of survival.
When access is difficult or time is critical, the North West Air Ambulance helicopters and their specially trained paramedic crew can be with you in minutes to provide life-saving treatment.
Over £4 million a year has to be raised from fund-raising and charitable donations to keep the NWAA helicopters flying and saving lives. Our new strategic target is to raise £12 million a year by 2016 – to ensure that the NWAA can continue to save lives throughout the region and further enhance its overall mission to reduce mortality disability and human suffering.
The 4 regional fund-raising staff at the NWAA have a key role to play in the achievement of the overall strategic aims of the charity.
